Though I have not had my surgery yet, I was looking to get my Vitamins ahead of time. Problem is, I have no idea what to get. Brand wise, price wise, what is the best? Those of you that are Post-OP....what are you taking? Where did you get them? My doctor can't burn it into my brain enough that after my surgery I need to take VITAMINS VITAMINS VITAMINS!

You'll have to do some research. My doctor gave me a list of required Vitamins. He also told me I would have to have chewables for the first 6 weeks. My doctor does not allow gummie Vitamins. After that, it's up to you. Some take Flintstones chewables, some take the chewables that are the textures of a starburst candy. The only other thing specified was to take Calcium citrate, not carboninate.

At 6 mths I just take regular ones since I have no problem swallowing pills.

I bought the expensive Vitamins at the pharmacy recommended by my surgeon. The next time around I went to Sams and got them. I still buy the Iron tablets from the pharmacy, but I buy the popular brands for Vitamins (Sam's house brand for adults 50+). Vitamin B is important so I make sure I take 5000 mg daily of the same Sam's house brand Vitamin B12 tablets (Simply Right). The Citracal gummies you can find at Wal Mart.

The opurity Vitamins are very good. I got the multiply Vitamin and the Calcium from unjury. The Vitamins especially the calcium are very tasty. The Unjury protien powder is also excellant. Good luck on your journey.

I take a calcium citrate capsule from Vitamin Shoppe, a b-12 from costco, a Centrium multi from Walgreens, Walmart, etc. and Iron from Vitamin Shoppe. The next time I am out of multi Vitamins I'm switching to a regular multi instead of a chewable. My labs were perfect at my 6 month check-up. I think I spend less than $15 a month on Vitamins.

After the first two months the Dr, told me I could buy a good multi Vitamin from the store like Centrum women , even store brand. But they had us buy ours to begin with from their store to be sure we had enough of what we needed. Your Dr, must be different.

I'm 7 months post-op, and I take Bariatric Advantage sublingual B12, optisource multivitamins that I get at Walgreens, and Citrical petites Calcium. All my blood work had been normal so far :-)

It is important to get Vitamins that your body can assimilate properly. I found the only way to do that is to use liquid vitamins. You can find them on line at a reasonable price. vitacost.com is where I found reasonably priced Vitamins. I use the Wellesse liquid but there are others. There are also chewables at the website that are easily assimilated.

I've been using the Bariatric Advantage Advanced Multi EA are chewable and they have the B Vitamin, Iron and Calcium included. Their carmel calcium citrate chews are yummy too, it's like eating a piece of candy!! I also take liquid B-12.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
