@@shellyd88 I am not a young girl nor single. I retired the miss title a long time ago but thank you for caring enough to repeat the general consensus on the thread. It's ok that you chose to focus on only the negative rather than my acknowledgement that I need to work on it. And even with your obvious anger and judgment of me I WILL say that I am sorry to have invoked such a passionate response from you. I would edit my original post so I don't offend anyone else, however leaving it may be able to help someone else get through what they are feeling. And I would like to do that. So I am not going to respond to any further comment and just let it be.

WOW…don't sweat the small/big stuff! So much for us to learns from everyones thread. You had some good reflection …so don't take the bait. Other wise we'll end up getting shut down by "the man" :)

I think perhaps once you get through your pre-op diet you have more room to rant.

I substituted a Oscar Mayer Protein pack for my Soup everyday during my pre-op diet. That's "cheating" but whatever. I did what I needed to do to get through it. And lost 21lbs in the process.

Congratulations on your approval. I just hope that once you start this journey your thoughts may soften some. Have compassion for others. We're all here for the same reason. We need to do our best to lift each other up not beat people down. You will have your slip ups. May not be during pre-op. But could be months down the road. But you shouldn't judge others on their path unless you would want the same attitude thrown at you in your hour of weakness.

May he without sin cast the first stone.

(Not being all Godly on ya, but it's a very fitting quote)

We all are sensitive at some point in this process. I am on day 7 of a 100% liquid diet and the first two days kicked my butt. In the approval process we all have many tasks to complete and it requires dedication to complete everything.

I see this forum as a place for us to share ideas and our experiences. It will not always be sunshine and rainbows but we are all humans and deserve respect. I'm glad you stated you are working on it. One idea my therapist shared with me was to write my thoughts down in a journal or blog. Maybe that would help you release your feelings and then reflect on them before making them public.

Good luck!

I generally agree with you because this is serious business. Seems like if a person agrees to have the majority of a key organ removed you'd bother to take the time to ask a few questions up front. However, much of what is posted during the "whiney" phase comes from emotions not clear thinking, it can be a good idea to just ignore it.

Example, every body seems to think that the bad stuff never applies to them. When they experience hunger due to acid, they think they have the only "failed" sleeve because they sorta skimmed over some of the potential "issues" and adjustment period. Most get over the temporary insanity. :)

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
