Hello I'm on the purée/ soft stage, so I can have, eggs, ricotta, cottage cheese, my doc didn't really give me a good list. He said Protein that can be purée or you can easily chew??? Anyways. I saw many examples here and on Pinterest etc. but what's the portion size? If I eat 1 egg? Can I add little ricotta? Or avocado? How many times should I eat? Totally confuse.

I would suggest contacting your NUT. I was given a whole booklet of menus with amounts..by volume. It may vary based on length of stages so it is best to go to your personal source.

I agree speak with you nutritionist for clarification. At the pureed stage 1 egg with ½ tsp of greek yogurt and a sprinkling of shredded cheese would have me stuffed. Sometime I couldn't finish it all. I was allowed avocado. Most of my portions were between ¼ & a ½ cup depending on the food.

I pretty much ate 3 meals a day. Drank Water in between and occasionally had an afternoon snack. Keep in mind every program is different. Some recommned 5 small meals, others 3 meals and 2 Snacks, others strictly 3 meals a day.

I eat 1 hard boiled egg with little drizzle of extra vergin olive oil it took me a long time, and I feel full. I'll call tomorrow to make an appt with the Nut. This morning I have an appt with doc and he said you are not going to see the nut for 6 month post op. But if you want we can set up an appt.

He said 3 meals and 2 Snacks. And Water. Even the fage yogurt for lunch I could only eat 1/2 cup

Everyone is going to have a different amount they can hold - depending on the food. My sleeve was very finicky for a long time and the only thing I could safely eat was Cream of Mushroom Soup, during the 1st month post-op.

But my doc wanted me eating 800 calories a day. 75% Protein, 25% vegetables - once I was on purees. I was mostly eating refried Beans and pureed turkey hamburger once I was able to transition to pureed foods.

In general, I was able to hold 1/4 cup of food per meal and I ate 4 to 6 times a day. If I tried to eat something like boiled eggs or finely chopped chicken, I was only able to eat a tablespoon full and couldn't eat again for about 1/2 an hour. Peanut Butter, on the other hand, went down with ease and I had to really fight my urge to eat more than a tablespoon or 2 per day.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
