I remember what that was like. It was a huge waiting game. Just try and focus on the positive and think how great it will be when you are banded.

Hi Cookie  why do you think you'd be denied? Did you meet all of the requirements? I remember worrying about the same thing, even thought I KNEW I met all the requirements. Two weeks later....approved! Let us know how you make out :)

Hi, thanks for your comments. I guess I am more nervous because I don't have my family's support. I am a single mom with two kids, they are both excited about it. My mom is scared and so are my brothers and sisters. I called the Dr's office today and they said I should have an answer by the end of this month. Thanks Again and have a great weekend.

I didn't even want to mess with insurance or do the six month medically supervised diet so I just paid cash and went to Mexico. Best thing I ever did.

I'm almost to goal, had I gone through my insurance I would have just finished the supervised diet.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
