Does your new stomach feel normal?

Recommended Posts

How long does it take for your new stomach to feel normal, not so fragile and touchy, like it's always there getting your attention, does that make sense..

It took about 2 months for me. I'm 3 months out now and everything feels 100% normal, just smaller.

Ok I'm two months today, I'm honestly getting really scared that I won't ever feel normal again.

I haven't felt any differently with my stomach. Up until I first felt restriction, I questioned if the surgeon even did anything. My stomach area feels the same, so I'm not sure what you mean. Maybe you are hyper aware of your new tummy because of knowing what the surgeon did? Which isn't at all unusual. I've had surgeries for athletic injuries and it takes awhile to get used to the fixed area again.

I'm 6 months out and unless I'm currently eating or have recently eaten, I am not conscious of my stomach. It feels normal in that I don't feel it at all. Is that what you mean?

Yes that's what I mean like before I wasnt conscious of my stomach unless I was hungry or it was upset but now it's like I always feel it, there's always some kind of sensation that keeps my attention. I hope that makes sense. But I really hope to feel normal like you all do now.

My gurgling has gone away for the most part, just feels queezy or something all the time, my one fear was that I'd be nauseous all the time after surgery, I do have to say I feel much better today, mind and body, ahh the power of prayer.

Same here.

I thought I would feel something magical but everything felt the same.

My full signal is a hiccup.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
