How are my March 9th buddies doing?

Recommended Posts

Hey guys how are you doing? Today is day 8 of our pre-op. Well I am having no problems getting my 3 Protein Shakes in but I am hungry most of the time. I did cheat yesterday and sucked on a grape. (oops!) I have lost 10 1/2 lbs so far so that's good! I am counting down the days and cant wait to get on with my new life.

Been doing pretty well! Luckily, mine isn't shakes only. I can eat a small meal 3-4 oz. meat and 1/2 - 1 cup of veggies.

I've lost about 11 lbs so far. My next weigh-in in Wednesday and I'm excited to see how much more I've lost!

Getting nervous, mostly because surgery in general is scary. But overall, super excited!

I went in for my second weigh in today and I've only lost an additional half pound since last time. Boo.

I was so angry!

I've done terrible on the diet so far. I'm restricting myself the rest of the weekend to hopefully drop some poundage. I'm going under Monday as well :)

I had my pre-op work up at the hospital yesterday. That's when I paid for my portion of the procedure. I think that's when reality set in for me. Ok. This is paid for now. That made it official. I am extremely nervous, but so very ready for this. I was originally scheduled for January 12 and to postpone due to work issues. I can't believe the wait is almost over. My surgery is 8:00 AM Monday morning. Good luck to everyone!

My surgery is tomorrow morning at 7:30 and while I am ready, i am also still nervous. I have had two previous surgeries, so I know the routine, but nonetheless I am still a bit anxious. I guess I am anxious more so about how much potential pain and nausea I will have and getting used to only being able to eat 1/4 of a cup to 3/4 of a cup and being full. I also worry about getting enough liquids and Proteins in the first two weeks. I have been doing a lot of praying and will continue to do so for all of my March 9 sleeve siblings too!! Can't wait to be a big healthier loser :)

Still in the hospital. Being discharged in the morning. Feeling pretty good. Better every time I burp some of this gas out! That's my only complaint. So much less pain than I was expecting, but I only had gallbladder surgery to go off of.

I like when I burp too! Makes me feel so much better. I feel less pain too! And I am basing it off of c-section. Congratulations!!

I am actually leaving the hospital in about 15 minutes. So far so good. The healing is def a day by day slow process!! I had some nausea, but not too much. I've been eating chicken and veggie broth and it takes mea good 30_40 min to get those down. I am walking more each day and thankfully it is supposed to be 65 degrees here tomorrow so I should be able to get my walking in outside with no problem. I am on a full liquid diet for the next two weeks, so the Protein Powder and PB2 are going to be my new best friends for awhile! sleep is important too!! My surgeon said that is a huge part of the healing process. One really nice thing my surgeon did for me was to give me pictures of the procedure, that showed my liver (which he said was very healthy), my stomach before and my stomach with the staples (it actually looked like a zipper) before he cut off the excess part! So far I am a happy camper and hope my recovery continues to go well. I hope all of you are doing good too!

Oh, I hope I can ask for pictures on my post op appointment! It slipped my mind. I asked on the endoscopy, so I definitely want to see this!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
