My husband is not attracted to me - 2 weeks post-op

Recommended Posts

Men do not like scars. It is over, you may have to accept this too.

Wait, what? The sweeping generalizations about men in this thread have made me a bit pissy so I've kept my mouth shut so as not to say something ugly.

This one, however takes the cake.

Men don't like scars. Really? And once you have one, your life as a sexual woman is over? Huh. Must have missed that one in the rulebook. So have most of my friend's husbands as did mine.

I won't say that's the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard, but it's close. I am sad for you. Find yourself a counselor that will help you find some self worth. There is no mark on your body that should take away your soul.

Men want perfect women, slim, NO wrinkles, white straight teeth, blemish free completion, long legs, slim waist. You do not have it? FORGET SEX. again, my humble experience, had it all except small scar and it s over now. I accept.

OH MY GAWD!!!!! What kind of men do you have in your life!?!?!? Girl, you need to move. You need to run far far away from where you are. I have never heard something so crazy in my life.

I can assure you that you weren't perfect when he married you, you won't be perfect in your old age even if you had never been fat or had surgery and he's not perfect either.

Supermodels aren't perfect, porn stars aren't perfect, actresses aren't perfect.

You don't know anyone who has been married into their 40s, 50s, 60s and beyond? Cuz let me tell you, wrinkles happen, fat happens, blemishes happen. If he's not having sex with you because of something so HUMAN, then he's got some mental issues that he needs serious help with.

Hell, my husband would have sex with me if I was a greasy, gassy, lumpy, frumpy, hot mess if I gave him the nod. Happened last night, in fact. ;)

No, really, Are we being trolled!?!??!!

Hello, I am about two weeks post-op and my husband says that he is not attracted to me at all after seeing my incisions, my drain, etc. He says he doesn't know if his attraction will come back and if it does, how long it will take. Did anyone else have similar experiences. What do I do?

This is so hurtful. WTF.

SCARS ARE not issue with most men but are issues with this man. hence the issue. we area all individual.

what brings me to your website? scars! you have weight loss surgery, you will have scars from skin removal due to excessive weight loss. Most men, in my experiences, have HUGE issue with scars. Scars = no sex. however small, hence the post to what to expect. Men want perfect women, slim, NO wrinkles, white straight teeth, blemish free completion, long legs, slim waist. You do not have it? FORGET SEX. again, my humble experience, had it all except small scar and it s over now. I accept.

You came to this site, not for the reasons or spirit for which it is intended. You mistakenly assume that all men like their women according to the shallow definition you provided. Sounds Trollish. If you are sincere...life is too short & as my parents told me, "You can be miserable by yourself...you don't need a man to cause you further misery."

@@lindawollock joined this site at 11:31 yesterday. Somehow, in 6 minutes, "she" found this thread, made THREE outrageous posts about how men won't stick it to a woman who hasn't been photo-shopped into physical perfection and posted no where else.

I am not one to call troll often, but damn...

So here's my question. How the heck is this world so over-populated? I've seen some pretty unattractive pregnant people. I've seen plenty of fatties pregnant. Women with crooked teeth (missing teeth!!), saggy boobs, bad haircuts, birth marks, missing limbs, missing boobs...

Hell's bells! I've even seen women with (gasp) more than one child! I know for a fact that my first child wrecked my body. stretch marks on my hips, thighs, my boobs got longer, my geenie got looser, the baby fat never went away, my skin got greasier as did my hair, I was a hot mess. I got knocked up. BY A MAN. How the hell did THAT happen if men won't stick it to anyone who isn't perfect? I even know many women with multiple "baby daddies". Seems to me more than one man out there will have sexy time with women who are less than perfect. But I could be wrong.

;)

WOW!!! What kind of VOWS did he make when you got married...whatever happened to...Do you promise to love her, comfort her, honor and keep her for better or worse, for richer or poorer, in sickness and health, and forsaking all others, be faithful only to her, for as long as you both shall live?

What!??!?! Don't tell that to my husband! He's had sex with me at 165 pounds and at 270 pounds. He's had sex with me 2 weeks post skin removal surgery while I was literally still wearing my full body compression garment! He's had sex with me when I've been sick with a head cold and had snot practically pouring out of my nose. He's had sex with me when I've been in sexy lingerie. He's had sex with me when I've been wearing a ratty t-shirt and sweatpants. He had sex with me when I was 22 and he has sex with me now that I'm almost 36. He's had sex with me with short hair and with long hair. He's had sex with me when I had a cast on my arm from a broken elbow. He's had sex with me when I've been sore and tired from a work out and I've literally said "I want to have sex, but I can't move. Will you do all the work?"

If your man wants a perfect woman, he can keep dreaming! Marriage is the long haul. Sickness and health. If your husband can't love you and be attracted to you through your whole life, then why bother with him? I need sex in my life. Barring some sort of illness or injury that would physically prevent my husband from having sex with me, I would not settle for anything less.

I have yet to meet a man who isn't intrigued by scars. They usually have a story. If you have not had a weight problem, and are not looking into batuatrics, my opinion is you do not belong on this board. I am sorry you have breast cancer scars, but I imagine the reason men aren't interested, is your overall attutude. It pretty much sucks. People aren't attracted to shit attitudes.

OP, men say dumb things. I hope that he just used the wrong words, and that his explanation for them, are his true feelings. :)

Oh, and my husband has had sex with me when I was in shape, pregnant, with a boot on my leg after ankle surgery, on my ugliest days, and a day preop. :)

I am just stunned! That was a disgraceful thing for him to say. If I were you i would post a for sale ad on craigslist with your husbands picture on it. That was insensitive and horribly painful. I pray for your marriage but I have to say, He is a fool to treat you like this. You deserve respect and appreciation. Your next husband will thank him one day for pushing you into his life.

This looks to be a hot topic. Although I'm sorry you had to hear that, use it as motivation. Remind yourself daily, who did you do this for? Him....or you? Do all you can to become the person you set out to be. Better yourself with this weight loss and focus on that. Let him be your motivation to improve yourself. You can do this!

Four days post surgery. I am sipping as fast as I can and getting NO WHERE near the goal of 60 - 80 grams of protein or the 64 oz of liquids. I just feel FULL. I don't know if it can still be the gas build up (I would think by now that would be gone) but it is a struggle to drink. And so far I have not had the nausea or spasms and don't want to wander into that territory by pushing too hard with liquids. I about passed out today as it was my most "strenuous" day. Went from second story to basement for shower and I was sure I was going to pass out. Looking back on my last few days I have had a total of less than 1000 calories. Am I just not getting enough nourishment in me? Once again a friday where I can't get ahold of the doc until Monday rolls back around so I am hoping maybe someone here has some experience on how to keep energy going. I do have fibromyalgia too and that may be where some added fatigue comes into play. How did you all fair with the goals the week after surgery?

2 days until I fly out to San Diego to have my Bypass Surg. in Tiajuana Mexico. Not gonna lie, the nerves are starting to surface. I don't fear the surgery itself, or the fact that I'm traveling alone, but its the aftermath that I'm stressing about the most, after this 8 week wait. I'm excited to finally be here, but I am really dreading the post surgical chapter. I know its going to be tough, real tough and I think I'm just in my head to much now that the day i here. Wish me luck, Hopefully I'm one of the lucky ones, and everything goes smoothly. Cant wait to give an exciting update,. If there is anyone else have a June bypass or even a recent one, Id love to have someone to compare war stories with. Also, anyone near San Antonio Tx? See ya soon with the future me. 💜

I'm in Houston so kind of near you and had the sleeve in Dec. Down 61 lbs. Feeling better. Was definitely worth it. I hope the everything is going well for you. Update us when you can!

I am back home after my bypass surgery in Tiajuana. I'm post op day 4. Everything went great! I guess I'm one of the lucky ones who have not encountered much pain at all, no nausea thus far and I'm having no problem keeping down broths and water. Thank you for your well wishes. I cant wait to keep up this journey and have a chance at better health and simply better quality of life. I know there will be bumps in the road ahead, and everything won't be peaches and cream, but at least I have a great start so far. 😍

I am new here today... and only two weeks out from my sleeve surgery on the 23rd. I am amazed I have kept my calories down to 467 today so far... that leaves me almost 750 left for dinner and maybe a snack. This is going to be tough for two weeks... but I have to believe I can do it!

Hey everyone. I'm new here so I thought I should introduce myself. I am 53y/o and am scheduled for Gastric Bypass on June 25th, 2025. I'm located in San Antonio, Texas. I will be having my surgery in Tiajuana Mexico. I've wanted this for years, but I always had insurance where bariatric procedures were excluded. Finally I am able to afford to pay out of pocket.  I can't wait to get started, and I hope I'm prepared for the initial period of "hell". I know what I have signed up for, but I'm sure the good to come will out way the temporary period of discomfort and feelings of regret. I'd love to find people to talk to who have been through the same procedure or experience before. So I look forward to meeting you all. Hope you have a great week!

I'm so happy for you! You are about to change your life. I was so glad to get the sleeve done in Dec. I didn't have feelings of regret overall. And I'm down almost 60 lbs. I do feel a little sad at restaurants. I can barely eat half a kid's meal. I get adults meals often because kid ones don't have the same offerings at times. Then I feel obligated to eat on that until it's gone and that can be days. So the restaurant thing isn't great for me. All the rest is fine by me! I love feeling full with very little. I do wish I could drink when eating. And will sip at the end. Just a strong habit to stop. But I'm working on it! You will do fine! Just keep focused on your desire to be different. Not better or worse. But different. I am happy both ways but my low back doesn't like me that heavy. So I listened (also my feet!). LOL! Update us on your journey! I'm not far from you. I'm in Houston. Good luck and I hope it all goes smoothly! Would love to see pics of the town you go to for this. I've never been there. Neat you will be traveling for this! Enjoy the journey. Take it one day at a time. Sometimes a few hours at a time. Follow all recommendations as best you can. 💗

      2. Doughgurl

Thank you so much for your well wishes. I am hoping that everything goes easy for me as well. We don't eat out much as it is, so it wont be too bad in that department. Thankfully. Also, I hear you regarding your back and feet!! I'd like to add knees to the list. Killing me as we speak! I'm only 5' so the weight has to go. Too short to carry all this weight. Menopause really did a doosey on me. (😶lol) My daughter also lives in Houston. with her Husband and my 5 grand-littles. I grew up in Beaumont, so I know Houston well, I will be sure to keep in touch and update you on my journey. I may need some advice in the future, or just motivation. Thank You so much for reaching out, I was hoping to connect with someone in the community. I really appreciate it. 💜
