New face.. New Make up

Yes I cna help you with that. The instructions say to put a coat of reg mascara on both eyes first. I don't.
1. Put one coat on one eye of the gel
2. Put coat of fibers. They are fibers so you don't want too get too close to the eyeball.
3. Put one coat on other eye of gel
4. Put one coat of fibers
5. Repeat till desired lenth and thickness
6 pu final coat of gel to seal them on
I know it sounds like a lot. But it really is not. Washes off with soap and Water or your fav wash. Attached are my eyes. I would never recommend anything unless i loved it.... and i do.

What do you guys think of bare minerals? A girlfriend buys only their stuff at their store but I wonder if they are worth the price.

Love the bare minerals foundations and mineral veil (powder).

I used and loved the powder foundation for several years.

Just switched to the bare minerals liquid serum foundation last year and am now hooked on it. The color matches beautifully to my skin (fair) and it applies very easily with a special brush.

The bm eye shadows I hated a lot. The blush was just so so.

I think on fair, to medium skin tones it's pretty nice. On olive or darker skin tones and/or people with oily skin I find it oxidizes after a few hours and can look orange-y.

I find the older I get the less foundation I should use. I have switched to tinted moisturizer instead. Some of those can be shiny so you have to select carfully.

I just tried the new Coverfx color drops. I like it a lot. You can mix them with anything for as little or as much coverage as you want. You could mix one drop with your favorite moisturizer to get light coverage. Or you could try a cream to powder compact. MAC and Coverfx have them.

Im definitely a Clinique girl. I have used it all my life. I started wearing make up around 13. I have tried a few others every now and then, but they never give me the coverage Clinique give me. I use their bb cream age defying cream (#2). Stay-Matte sheer press (stay cream) , soft-pressed powder (new clover), Different Lipstick (surprise). December of 2012 i was introduced to Younique. It's a new company, they only sell on line through a rep. Kind of like Mary-kay...but so much better in my opinion. I am in love with their 3d mascara... as you can tell. and their shadows are pigments which i love love love... they can be worn dry or wet. I use rosewater to do that. the colors are beautiful in matte and shimmers. Like Bare Minerals... but better ingredients and cheaper. Go pull them up on Pintrest and their website. a few of my fav colors... but they have 32 diff. in all... I like shimmers...

I started as a Clinique gal. I still love some of their lipsticks. Unfortunately they aren't very brown girl friendly. I would buy the darkest shade and by the time it was time to rebuy the color was discontinued.

I'm not a fan of Yonique. I don't care for how the lashes look and some of the reps can be a bit over aggressive. A big turn off for me. I find I get better results combining a Fiber rich and waterproof mascara.

Lately I've been into a lot of indie brands like Sugarpill. I am also a die hard for good foundation. I've worn and still like MAC, MUFE and Revlon, but I am in love with Coverfx.

Brown Girl.... your funny. My grand daughter was telling me about her best friend at school who is a "brown girl". I'm guessing that's what the schools are teaching now, because my neighbor, who is a Brown boy of 7, calls his friends brown....

that was off subject....lol.... Any who.... I agree with you about the aggressiveness of some of those woman, one of the reasons i stopped selling it. Honestly i bought the Kit because i found out i could buy it all with out selling... and it was cheaper then buying what i want separately... back then the kit was only $99 with free shipping.... lol At the time i was the only person in a 100 miles rad that could sell it.... and people started asking me, and i said why the hell not... so i sold it for a while, made my money back plus some... then other started and the back stabbing began... bye bye... not for me.

I saw the Coverfx and wanted to try it... but my skin is sensitive.... and it worries me. Nothing worse than a 46 year old with a broke out face.... hehehe

HA! I use brown gal because I have such a rainbow of friends that saying that it was just easier. I am the allergy queen. I discovered Coverfx while search for something that offered full coverage t cover up facial scars from a nasty bout of facial shingles. I looked at Dermablend, but wasn't pleased with the colors or how the product manipulated. I then discover Coverfx and fell in love. It has a nice color range and is really easy to apply. The cream compact provides full coverage without looking heavy and overly made up. Even better my skin LOVES it and it covers my scars. Stop by Sephora if you can and try it out.

BTW I'm 51 years young.

@@BLERDgirl is this what you are talking about?

Like I said I have been happily using tinted moisturizers for a couple of years and getting lighter and lighter all the time on the coverage. I just need to knock down the red that shows through my Irish face. It is still good to see what else is out there, particularly that is skin healthy! I am 50 and wanting to keep as much youthfulness as possible. yikes!

@@CowgirlJane No, that's a cream foundation kit. That poduct may be old. I had one 4 years ago. I'm not sure they even sell them anymore. It has foundation and 2 colors for blending & concealing. Under the bottom is a container of set powder as well. This is what I use. This is the custom color drops I think you might like, although you might like to use a teeny bit of concealer cream across the areas that tend to go red.

Four days post surgery. I am sipping as fast as I can and getting NO WHERE near the goal of 60 - 80 grams of protein or the 64 oz of liquids. I just feel FULL. I don't know if it can still be the gas build up (I would think by now that would be gone) but it is a struggle to drink. And so far I have not had the nausea or spasms and don't want to wander into that territory by pushing too hard with liquids. I about passed out today as it was my most "strenuous" day. Went from second story to basement for shower and I was sure I was going to pass out. Looking back on my last few days I have had a total of less than 1000 calories. Am I just not getting enough nourishment in me? Once again a friday where I can't get ahold of the doc until Monday rolls back around so I am hoping maybe someone here has some experience on how to keep energy going. I do have fibromyalgia too and that may be where some added fatigue comes into play. How did you all fair with the goals the week after surgery?

2 days until I fly out to San Diego to have my Bypass Surg. in Tiajuana Mexico. Not gonna lie, the nerves are starting to surface. I don't fear the surgery itself, or the fact that I'm traveling alone, but its the aftermath that I'm stressing about the most, after this 8 week wait. I'm excited to finally be here, but I am really dreading the post surgical chapter. I know its going to be tough, real tough and I think I'm just in my head to much now that the day i here. Wish me luck, Hopefully I'm one of the lucky ones, and everything goes smoothly. Cant wait to give an exciting update,. If there is anyone else have a June bypass or even a recent one, Id love to have someone to compare war stories with. Also, anyone near San Antonio Tx? See ya soon with the future me. 💜

I'm in Houston so kind of near you and had the sleeve in Dec. Down 61 lbs. Feeling better. Was definitely worth it. I hope the everything is going well for you. Update us when you can!

I am back home after my bypass surgery in Tiajuana. I'm post op day 4. Everything went great! I guess I'm one of the lucky ones who have not encountered much pain at all, no nausea thus far and I'm having no problem keeping down broths and water. Thank you for your well wishes. I cant wait to keep up this journey and have a chance at better health and simply better quality of life. I know there will be bumps in the road ahead, and everything won't be peaches and cream, but at least I have a great start so far. 😍

I am new here today... and only two weeks out from my sleeve surgery on the 23rd. I am amazed I have kept my calories down to 467 today so far... that leaves me almost 750 left for dinner and maybe a snack. This is going to be tough for two weeks... but I have to believe I can do it!

Hey everyone. I'm new here so I thought I should introduce myself. I am 53y/o and am scheduled for Gastric Bypass on June 25th, 2025. I'm located in San Antonio, Texas. I will be having my surgery in Tiajuana Mexico. I've wanted this for years, but I always had insurance where bariatric procedures were excluded. Finally I am able to afford to pay out of pocket.  I can't wait to get started, and I hope I'm prepared for the initial period of "hell". I know what I have signed up for, but I'm sure the good to come will out way the temporary period of discomfort and feelings of regret. I'd love to find people to talk to who have been through the same procedure or experience before. So I look forward to meeting you all. Hope you have a great week!

I'm so happy for you! You are about to change your life. I was so glad to get the sleeve done in Dec. I didn't have feelings of regret overall. And I'm down almost 60 lbs. I do feel a little sad at restaurants. I can barely eat half a kid's meal. I get adults meals often because kid ones don't have the same offerings at times. Then I feel obligated to eat on that until it's gone and that can be days. So the restaurant thing isn't great for me. All the rest is fine by me! I love feeling full with very little. I do wish I could drink when eating. And will sip at the end. Just a strong habit to stop. But I'm working on it! You will do fine! Just keep focused on your desire to be different. Not better or worse. But different. I am happy both ways but my low back doesn't like me that heavy. So I listened (also my feet!). LOL! Update us on your journey! I'm not far from you. I'm in Houston. Good luck and I hope it all goes smoothly! Would love to see pics of the town you go to for this. I've never been there. Neat you will be traveling for this! Enjoy the journey. Take it one day at a time. Sometimes a few hours at a time. Follow all recommendations as best you can. 💗

Thank you so much for your well wishes. I am hoping that everything goes easy for me as well. We don't eat out much as it is, so it wont be too bad in that department. Thankfully. Also, I hear you regarding your back and feet!! I'd like to add knees to the list. Killing me as we speak! I'm only 5' so the weight has to go. Too short to carry all this weight. Menopause really did a doosey on me. (😶lol) My daughter also lives in Houston. with her Husband and my 5 grand-littles. I grew up in Beaumont, so I know Houston well, I will be sure to keep in touch and update you on my journey. I may need some advice in the future, or just motivation. Thank You so much for reaching out, I was hoping to connect with someone in the community. I really appreciate it. 💜
