Just weighed myself!

Recommended Posts

I am just about 2 weeks post op. When I started my journey about 8 months ago I weighed 310lbs. I lost 10lbs before surgery. I am now down to 275lbs! I have lost a total of 35 pounds so far. I'm so proud of myself. I already have so much more energy and feel better.

Isn't it a great motivator to see progress happening?! Congratulations you are well on your way. I was the same weight as you when I started, of course it does start to come off a bit slower after that first initial month but seeing progress every week toward my goal keeps me motivated. For me it was about getting healthy at first and in just 5 short months all my co morbidities are gone and kidney function is normal. I was stage 3 kidney disease when I began the process and headed for a very bad place.

Now everything is normal!

Of course now I love the fact that I can shop at almost very store! I bought my first pair of Lucky jeans this week in a size 14! I always wanted a pair of Lucky jeans! I was wearing 24/26 when I started this! I still have 65lbs to go. I cannot even think about what that would mean for me in sizes!

You keep pushing forward, it is a very exciting time for us! Good luck and keep us posted!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
