I have a question, I had my first fill about two weeks ago, could it be possible that I am just now feeling restriction, or would I have noticed restriction sooner? It all of a sudden feels like my food isn't passing as easy. Thanks!

hi Lolo, I have not personally experienced that, but I have read on here frequently that feeling restriction can kick in a week or so later. That is awesome if you are feeling some restriction after your first fill. I gained a couple of pounds between my first and second. :-)

Lolo-T - in my research I've learned that a fill can take up to 2 weeks to settle in and "take". Just thought I'd throw that into the conversation!

i have done that with some of my fills. i had one before where i think great this fill was not working then bam about a week and a half later it hit me and i am like wow this did work everyone is different my doctor said some feel it right away and some people it takes time. my first fill did nothing for me so you are lucky it took me three fills to start getting good restriction.

Me, too -- I usually feel differently around day 4 or 5. Best wishes -- you are on your way!

I am a year post op and relocated. The new Dr does my fills under Flouroscopy... which I think is odd and more pricy. I have had 1 fill and do not feel that it was adequate. I no longer have that FULL sensation and have gained 10 lbs. I am only 1/2 way to my goal wait and want to get there within the year. Part of me would like to fly back to my original surgeon to have the fills done..... INPUT PLEASE

I was in green but then my hunger was returning a little bit more between meals. So my sixth fill was another 0.01 cc fill bringing me to 7.6 in a 14cc band. This made a huge difference. Tiny fill, huge difference.

Creep to your green. Don't overshoot it. My NP says it's much easier to creep toward a proper fill level than to retrieve it by unfilling.

Good luck.

You know... that is the one thing I do not know.. how much I have been totally filled. I have the records from my Dr who did the surgery. I will look and then go there. I am hungry all the time. Granted I am in training... but the scale dont lie and I hate that!.

** Now why cant I do the TICKER?? I am having problems with that too... UGH!!

Thanks so much for the input

Sure glad to help. I aim for 4-5 hours between meals without hunger as a barometer of good fill level. When I was getting hungry after three hours again I decided on another tiny fill. My last two fills have been 0.01 each.

Ticker--I can only do it from a PC. Search in settings.

I see you quote CREEP TO GREEN..... I have only seen that in the new Dr office. Where can I find that chart? I should have joined this so long ago.

Yea kiddos... found that this site doesn't play well with CHROME so I popped into Safari and BAM!

I would personslly question the need for fluoro for a standard fill. Several reasons.

It exposes you to unnecessary radiation. Not much but ANY unnecessary exposure is too much!

It is expensive.

It only shows how tight you are at that precise minute. For example, if I had a fill under fluoro at 9 in the morning, my band would seem tight. With the exact same amount of saline, three hours later, it wouldn't!

When it's at 7, how well did you get down food

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
