Girl Scout cookie advice/suggestions

Recommended Posts

Waiting for Insurance approval. But it is Girl scout cookietime here in Alaska and I was wondering how people deal with these great Cookies. I am a GS leader and Cookie parent/manager. Seeing there will probably not be a bariatric cookie in the near future-just curious and also looking for some tips on how to handle the cookie situation. Thank you in advance. :) :) :)

I made a thin mint inspired Protein Shake today. Could probably figure out a Samoa one, too.

Oh, and we'll be buying a box or two. One goes to work with hubs and the other gets split into small baggies for school lunches. I won't be eating any.

You can still buy some and freeze them (if you have willpower to have them in your home) you can use them sparingly as a treat. I stopped using food as a treat though. I buy clothes, makeup ect... Anything not edible. That's just me though. If you don't think you will have the willpower to not eat a bunch then don't buy them. It's not worth it or buys some to give as gifts if you just want to help support.

My niece is a girl scout and selling the Cookies... I bought a box in support, ate ONE cookie, and gave the rest to a friend. Was great to sneak a taste, and honestly that was all I needed.

If you've got the will power to keep from tearing into the whole box, a single cookie once in awhile is a great treat. My Nut and support folks all advocate a small cheat when you hit a stall to switch things up and help your body back into loss mode... so the occasional thing like this not only doesn't make me feel guilty, I feel like it helps some. Just don't overdo it. (Or over justify it.) :)

The only way I can cope is to tell myself I am allergic to them, and it is a matter of life and death. Thin Mints are a major trigger for me... frozen or room temperature. For me, there is no such thing as one.

My daughter was a Girl Scout for years, never saw the appeal of the Cookies, to me they are no better than a cookie you can buy in the grocery store. Keebler makes cookies similar to the thin mint and samoa and once I saw how little money the troop actually gets from the $4 per box price I never bought another box.

I am the one oddball. I hate GS Cookies. They taste plastic and fake to me so GS season comes and goes and I never bat a lash.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
