Well it's been a little over 5 months. Down 80 lbs to 191. It feels SO different! I still have a good way to go but I have no worries about getting there. I feel like I am 25 years younger. The only real issue is my Hair loss (dammit ) and also anemia but those will be temporary, I'm sure. Gosh, why was I so fat for so long? Praise God for modern medicine.

Thank you all and God bless. I can cross my legs now, I can wear semi-high heels, I can get out of a bathtub, I can buy non-plus sizes, I can sleep comfortably, bras are no longer devices of torture, I can walk pretty much as far as I want, I don't snore anymore, and I am NEVER hungry. food no longer rules my life. What a miracle this journey is. We are so fortunate to live in a time when medicine can do do much for us. I hope you all are as happy with your decision as I am and are enjoying your new lives. Yay for all of us! :)

I am so looking forward to being able to do all of the things you can now do! I'll probably cry tears of joy the first time I buy non-plus size clothes!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
