Hello! I had my sleeve done on the 11th and I just wanted to see how others were doing so far.

Best wishes to all!

HI there,

I had mine done a day after you . I am feeling great and actually enjoy stepping on the scale. I am going back to work tomorrow . I am going to wear the clothing that I had "Out sized" and can now wear comfortably again. I am down 24lbs total . This includes pre-op lost 13lbs on Optifast diet and the rest is all post-op weight loss. I am still on Clear Liquids. I drink a Protein Powder shake mixed in a Blender Bottle and sip at it till I finish. It takes me several hours but at least I get the Protein in for the day. I have be walking, shopping and doing laundry. The weather does not lend itself to outdoor activity since it is snowing so much and freezing. I feel very good about my decision and look forward to my journey of weight loss as a positive thing now that I have given myself this tool.

I had my surgery on 2/19. So far, everything is going pretty well. I was amazed at how little pain I had -- the worst part was the sore throat after the intubation for general anesthesia! I'm able to tolerate pretty much every liquid except plain Water. I'm not someone who sits still well, so I have found it easy to get up once an hour and walk around the house (including a trip upstairs each time). I'll be glad when the weather warms up a bit so I walk around the block instead. The hardest part is drinking an ounce of Water every 15 minutes -- I don't feel as if I can get anything else done! I'm glad I can take two weeks off from work -- I don't know how I could keep up with the hydration schedule otherwise.

I'd be interested in joining the secret Facebook group, too! Please let me know what to do to join.

I was sleeved on Feb 2nd. I am doing ok and on soft foods but struggling to get anywhere close to 60g of Protein in each day. I was in the hospital on Thursday due to inflammation of the lungs and all my levels were good. So my Water intake has been good. I am so scared to eat more than a few bites. :( I hope it gets better. Oh, and it takes me 90 minutes to get a Protein Shake down.

Sounds like we are all having very similar lives going on right now. :) I was able to move to full liquids today after a 2 week clear liquid diet. I had a few bites of heaven today. Lol it was canned cream of potato Soup with some Protein powder added in. It was so good to eat something other than Jello or broth. My stomach handled it well. Yay!! Lisa I too was so scared to eat more than a few bites. I guess eventually we will get used to all this.

How do you all make your Protein Shakes? I haven't been able to have any until today.

Sleeved on February 9... Down 20 pounds and the last 3 days been in a stall. I'm wicked annoyed. Am I eating too much? I feel like I could eat a steak dinner. I'm doing great! No complaints at all. What am I doing wrong? I'm eating yogurt, cottage cheese and Soup. That's it! I do have hunger pains... I feel like I am starving sometimes!

Hello all. I was sleeved on February 2. The first week was pretty rough, but after that I felt a little better each day. This week is my second week back to work and I feel great energy wise, but I notice that I don't get as much done on the weekend as I used to. I'm sure that will come. I am currently in the pureed stage and not loving it nearly as much as I thought I would. I think it's a texture thing :(. I am able to get my 64 oz of fluids and my 60 grams of Protein on most days. I feel like it's a full time job to get in all of my liquids and Proteins. What a learning experience this all is. I figured out I have no idea when one bite is to much until my tummy lets me know. I'm learning though.

I would like to join the Facebook page, but I'm not quite sure how to go about it. Can anyone help?

Good Luck Everyone!!

2/9, I have my good moments and bad moments. I suffer with gas and heartburn all day long. I'm not getting the amount of Protein I need because I have this stabbing pain in the middle of my chest. Some days I cry and wonder why did I do this to myself.

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I had about 6 months between deciding to do surgery and getting scheduled. I came across the book The Pound of Cure by Dr. Matthew Weiner, a bariatric surgeon in Arizona, and started to implement some of the changes he recommended (and lost 13 lbs in the process without ever feeling deprived). The book is very simple, and the focus is on whole, plant based foods, but within reason. It's not an all or nothing approach, or going vegan or something, but focuses on improvement and aiming for getting it right 80-90% of the time. His suggestions are divided into 12 sections that you can tackle over time, perhaps one per month for a year if a person is just trying to improve nutrition and build good habits. They range from things like cutting out artificial sweetener or eating more beans to eating a pound of vegetables per day. I found it really effective pre-surgery and it's an eating style I will be working to get back to as I am further out from surgery and have more capacity. Small changes you can sustain will do the most for building good habits for life.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
