Hello! My name is Sarah, I'm 23 and just had the gastric sleeve done on Feb 11th 2015. I also have gastroparesis. Or, had it seems. I can't tel for sure, but this surgery seems to have fixed my issues I had pre-op. This is WONDERFUL to me. The main reason I chose this surgery is to try to fix my already failing stomach. I had spent many day not eating at times because I just couldn't keep anything down. When I could, I would risk an attack of immense pain that normally ended me in the ER. I dealt with this for 6 years, progressively getting worse to where I would have an attack every day. At that point I was just prescribed narcotics (which I hate) to keep me from the hospital. Nothing seemed to work to help, expect medicinal cannabis. I know there are a lot of people who don't like it or the idea, but it was the only way I could even eat. Now I don't need it. Now I can eat without pain and I only feel nauseous occasionally. My life has completely changed and for the better. I can't express how great fun I am to have this option. I am obese and look forward to weight loss, but I'm just happy I can eat! Even if it is just liquids for now. I look forward to my journey ahead.
