  3. UPDATE After peer-to-peer I was APPROVED! My doctor said it only took 5 minutes to get it approved. Apparently the doctor she spoke to said it would apper that the person who originally denied the claim didn't even read the file because this one is a "no-brainer." I agree and that's why I was so shocked! Thanks for all of your encouragement! I will add that after about 2 days of being shocked and really mad, I settled down and was ready to go hard in the appeal process. Yet, I was actually so at-peace with everything that I was even okay with not having the surgery, if that's the way the appeals went, becuase I know that in the end, whatever happenes is the right thing.
  4. Steve, Do you have any advice? Any steps to take, words to use, requests of doctor? Etc. Why were you denied and what happend that eventually caused you to be approved? Please share.
  5. I was denied - I'm shocked. I meet their requirements. BMI 35 2 meds for HBP Supervised diet not required for surgery before March 15 (I'm scheduled for March 13) Blue Cross The peer to peer is on Tuesday and I have no idea what to expect
  6. Thanks for the thoughts on Mexico. I might start thinking more seriously about that if things don't work out there. I do like the American doctor who did my band, and he is the one who would be doing the sleeve, if I get approved. I got a little bit more info from the insurance company. In general the surgery was deemed “too investigational.” The peer to peer is on Tuesday and I have no idea what to expect.
  7. Peer-to-peer scheduled for Tuesday afternoon.
  8. Just curious, have any of you been denied and successfully appealed?
  9. Did anyone have to remove any of their clothing to weigh in your first time (except shoes, which I know I have to remove)?
  10. Assuming you did not have major complications, how long was your hospital stay? Thanks!
  11. Thanks for the update! I'm so happy that you are improving! Please keep us posted as there is much we can learn from your experience and we can reach out and support you also. I sure have had you on my mind OFTEN over the last few days and have often prayed for you as well. God Bless.
