I have been hollered at for telling this before...oh well! What got me through is I would take a package of instant potatoes and make it so thin.....it was Soup...add a little cheese. I know there is no Protein, but you are in the healing stage and that should be number one!!! It was so satisfying......I have never liked broth......some say cook chicken and make your own broth and it is better? You can also take refried Beans and add Water to make them Soup and add cheese. Just make sure it is real thin and no lumps. I had a terrible time with Protein at first also.....Once I hit the soft foods.....I lived off of Soups for several months and is still my go to when my tummy is not tolerating very well.

Guac, yes – chips, no! Stick it out through the 2-week liquid phase and you'll detox from the crap foods. Tell yourself you dont' want them anymore. Then introduce soft meats like tuna and chicken salad. You'll be amazed at how great they taste after 4 weeks of Protein shakes. I also found that warm chicken broth was very soothing during the first 2 weeks. Hang in there. It gets better quickly!!!

Stomach of Iron here. Nothing made me sick. I got bored of the taste of Protein shakes in the all liquid phase, but everything stayed down from day 1.

Hang in there. It's just 2 weeks. You can do this! However if you get to the point where NOTHING stays down call the doc ASAP.

So my all liquid phase is over tomorrow but because I haven't been getting in enough Protein my nut is leery of moving me to pureed/mushy foods. I'm praying she dies though. Im so evil sometimes, I can't stand myself! Lol

I saw my doc today and he asked if I had already started pureed foods and I said...uh, I thought you were suppose to approve that today...lol. He basically told me to start adding in pureed and soft foods slowly as tolerated. He is super laid back and obviously not completely on the same pages as the nutritionists...lol

I say this because yea...I was going NUTS on Protein shakes...couldn't choke down enough. Lucky for me they didn't even ask if I got 60 g every day or not, just if i was tolerating it all ok.

hang in there!

If you've ever looked on pinterest or subscribe to "the world according to eggface" blog there is this ricotta bake that I want to try. It's basically lasagna without the Pasta. And you can add a meat sauce in top if you line.

I made that ricotta bake after I was out for dinner with nothing to eat. I ordered stuffed shells and just ate the stuffing Then cam home and started making it in ramekins.

You can up you Protein with greek yogurt. Thin it out by mixing it with the shakes you're drinking. Once you hit soft foods you can go half and half with mayo without changing the taste.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
