Eventually I will be able to go to the differen't centers to do seminars. I am very excited! The people that work there are wonderful. I will be starting in about a week or so it looks like. I just have to go for the drug test and I'm on my way to my new career!!!

Congratulations, Dianne! You'll be perfect for that job!

Thanks for the compliment, too. I haven't posted any pictures in a long time, and of course, I'm not wearing make-up or have my hair fixed up in any of these!

Cindy, you look great in all the pics. Haven looks like she is having a blast, and she looks just like you. Make-up and hair being done at Disney....never. No time for beauty, the mouse awaits....

Dianne, congrats on the job. Sounds perfect, wish I could get into something like that. Let us know how it's going, when you get going. ~Mandy

Hi girlies!

You look like you had a blast Cindy!!! I am glad you got to spend special time in a special place with special people. We never seem to get enough of those times!

Dianne-what a perfect job for you! You always have such an upbeat attitude towards your banding, and you have done such a great job working yours! Congratulations!!!! My SIL that was banded the same time I was told me today that her oldest and youngest DD's are going to be banded in August, and will be going together. How lucky for them to be getting the help at the youger ages. One is 33 the other 29 or so.... I never really had a problem with my weight until in my 30's----I would have loved to have the 15 years back, to live at a normal weight, without the years of obesity. Lots of you are younger, and I think it was a great move getting it done then, not waiting! Anyway.....I have no doubt you will prove to be excellent at your new job an a real asset to the medical group! WTG!!!

Mandy---you too would do good at something like that---but girl you know those kiddos need you!!!

I am exhausted! I cleaned the garage today!!! I also got the flowers done. My SIL come and helped me, with the flowers thank goodness. Rick built my picture things tonight, so I will finish them tomorrow. I have these vinyl cling like things of the Surf Guy, with the ripped muscles, and the Hula Girl, with all the perfect curves. They are like 5- 5 1/2 feet tall. So we are mounting them on sheets of board, and we cut out the faces, and made holes in the board. So you stand behind them, and put your face through. They are going to turn out pretty cute I think---I'll try to post a "new" after pic!!!! He also used our old desk and built a Tiki Bar. I am going to have several of the sun tea jars with tea, some flavored tea, and lemonade in them, as well as one of the big pails with iced soda's. My inlaws are VERY anti alcohol, so there will be none! I have a full day of shopping, and lawn work tomorrow, and then the next will be split between cooking and cleaning. Then it will be over soon!!!!

I have horrible "farmers" tan on my arms after this last weekend on the bike, and my dress is sleeveless....not gonna be pretty! I never buy sleeveless, because I have some pretty scary scars on my arm....but went for it anyway, and now the tan only highlights them! Oh well, they won't be looking at me anyway---and hopefully if they do, they will notice the weight loss, and not the arms!!

Cindy---ask Sherry for some help with the avatar, she helped me. I need to make a new picture.....but even though I know that one was taken over 40 pounds ago, I don't feel like I have changed much.

Betty---been getting in any riding? I know everytime I see the weather it shows y'all getting more storms. I bet it is so green there!!! Gotta show us your yard! I keep trying not to stress over our weather for these parties---but it is hard not to!

So what's everyone got on the agenda for the 4th of July? I can tell you what I am NOT doing!!!! There will be NO parties here at our place for the 4th!!!! Be willing to bet they expect there to be though!!

Well, I am off to cruise the site a bit, and then head off to bed. We had dinner late, so letting it settle before laying down, or I reflux----ewwwwww!

Talk to y'all soon!!!

Kat

Good Morning Y'all!

Well, the rain finally got us really good, the pool has flooded and is now full of mud again. There is nothing nice about looking outside and seeing a pool that looks like a dirty pond. I guess our work is cut out for us this weekend. I am really sick of rain.

Kat it is so green and pretty here, but I am so ready for sunshine. You sound like you have your work cut out for you. Just put your foot down from now and and tell them all it's their turn. The crype myrtle trees are all in bloom and it sure makes it pretty.

Cindy your pictures are beautiful and you look so great! Your daughter does look alot like you! I love your shirts!

Mandy I bet those pictures really make you want to leave on your trip today!

Diane congrats on the new job! It sounds like it's right up your alley!

Patty congrats on the w/l, you sound like you are so much happier.

Hello to all of you gals that are mia, hope to see you all soon!

Time for me to get some Breakfast and then get dressed.

Catch y'all later!

Cindy WELCOME HOME!! glad your vacation was awesome and you all look great in your tshirts. You look prettttty darn good there girlie, hope your proud of yourself

Dianne, good luck and congratulations on the new job. They sure did pick the right woman for the job. Keep that leg feeling good.

Betty sorry about the water/mud in your pool, that really sucks. I didn't know you were getting lots of rain.

Sherry good to see you hon

Mandy have fun with Abi's party.

Kat... farmers tan huh. How about buying that lotion that tans you to even up your arms ?? bet that would work. Bet your gonna look beautiful.

Well kiddo's, I gotta get going. DH had eye surgery yesterday and he can't see out of both eyes today so I'm taking him back to the hospital for followup. This is normal as far as the procedure goes. He has Pterygium Pterygium He had stemcell graph put in his eye instead of using his own eye for the graph which is amazing. August/September he goes back for his other eye...poor thing, he was in so much pain yesterday.

Anyway....off to the doc's. Catch you chickies all later.

Oh and cindy, I am far from eating from a straw... I can eat so much it isn't funny, you'd fall over if you saw me eat. And trust me, I go very slow with fills, 1 every 6 months maybe is slow if ya ask me LOL.

Okay kids, I gotta toodle.

Have a groovy week, whats left of it.

Hi, Eileen! I know you'll be carefull with your fills...I'm just over-protective! And I appreciate the compliments on the vacation pics, too!

Sherry, if you can figure out a good avatar from any of these newer pics, I'd sure appreciate it! You can email it to me; I think you have it. If not, let me know, and I'll PM it to you.

Kat, your party plans sound so great! I hope you relax on the 4th. We usually do some kind of cookout for the fathers, and do sparklers or something. We haven't even talked about it!

Just finished cooking dinner, and am ready to hang out with my little laptop friend here...hope all is well with all of you!

Hugs,

Cindy

Hey Cindy, I emailed your avatar to you  Hope you like it.

I'm headed to my PCP in the morning to see if we can do something with my acid reflux problem. It's been keeping me up. I know it's not the band being too tight because I can eat too much and I'm hungry in between meals. I wish I could get a fill! I don't want to do that though until this is settled. I have an appointment with my bariatric surgeon on the 11th. I called there today to see if there was anything they wanted me to tell my PCP etc. Just can't be on NSAIDs but they said any other pill or meds would be ok. I would think the pills would get stuck but ok. So if my PCP does give me something, at least it will be a few weeks before I see the bariatric center so we'll see how it goes then.

I'm so frustrated with no weightloss that I'm actually considering doing Herbalife or another liquid based diet for a while to see if it will push me in the right direction. How frustrating! Anyway....I'll let you know how I make out with the PCP.

Hugs

Hi all, Thanks for the compliments on my new job! I'm excited I'll be going for the blood work tomorrow morning.

My little sister is having such a hard time. She is so angry and upset, I know this is going to take a long time. But it is just so hard.

Four days post surgery. I am sipping as fast as I can and getting NO WHERE near the goal of 60 - 80 grams of protein or the 64 oz of liquids. I just feel FULL. I don't know if it can still be the gas build up (I would think by now that would be gone) but it is a struggle to drink. And so far I have not had the nausea or spasms and don't want to wander into that territory by pushing too hard with liquids. I about passed out today as it was my most "strenuous" day. Went from second story to basement for shower and I was sure I was going to pass out. Looking back on my last few days I have had a total of less than 1000 calories. Am I just not getting enough nourishment in me? Once again a friday where I can't get ahold of the doc until Monday rolls back around so I am hoping maybe someone here has some experience on how to keep energy going. I do have fibromyalgia too and that may be where some added fatigue comes into play. How did you all fair with the goals the week after surgery?

2 days until I fly out to San Diego to have my Bypass Surg. in Tiajuana Mexico. Not gonna lie, the nerves are starting to surface. I don't fear the surgery itself, or the fact that I'm traveling alone, but its the aftermath that I'm stressing about the most, after this 8 week wait. I'm excited to finally be here, but I am really dreading the post surgical chapter. I know its going to be tough, real tough and I think I'm just in my head to much now that the day i here. Wish me luck, Hopefully I'm one of the lucky ones, and everything goes smoothly. Cant wait to give an exciting update,. If there is anyone else have a June bypass or even a recent one, Id love to have someone to compare war stories with. Also, anyone near San Antonio Tx? See ya soon with the future me. 💜

      2. Selina333

I'm in Houston so kind of near you and had the sleeve in Dec. Down 61 lbs. Feeling better. Was definitely worth it. I hope the everything is going well for you. Update us when you can!

      3. Doughgurl

I am back home after my bypass surgery in Tiajuana. I'm post op day 4. Everything went great! I guess I'm one of the lucky ones who have not encountered much pain at all, no nausea thus far and I'm having no problem keeping down broths and water. Thank you for your well wishes. I cant wait to keep up this journey and have a chance at better health and simply better quality of life. I know there will be bumps in the road ahead, and everything won't be peaches and cream, but at least I have a great start so far. 😍

I am new here today... and only two weeks out from my sleeve surgery on the 23rd. I am amazed I have kept my calories down to 467 today so far... that leaves me almost 750 left for dinner and maybe a snack. This is going to be tough for two weeks... but I have to believe I can do it!

Hey everyone. I'm new here so I thought I should introduce myself. I am 53y/o and am scheduled for Gastric Bypass on June 25th, 2025. I'm located in San Antonio, Texas. I will be having my surgery in Tiajuana Mexico. I've wanted this for years, but I always had insurance where bariatric procedures were excluded. Finally I am able to afford to pay out of pocket.  I can't wait to get started, and I hope I'm prepared for the initial period of "hell". I know what I have signed up for, but I'm sure the good to come will out way the temporary period of discomfort and feelings of regret. I'd love to find people to talk to who have been through the same procedure or experience before. So I look forward to meeting you all. Hope you have a great week!

I'm so happy for you! You are about to change your life. I was so glad to get the sleeve done in Dec. I didn't have feelings of regret overall. And I'm down almost 60 lbs. I do feel a little sad at restaurants. I can barely eat half a kid's meal. I get adults meals often because kid ones don't have the same offerings at times. Then I feel obligated to eat on that until it's gone and that can be days. So the restaurant thing isn't great for me. All the rest is fine by me! I love feeling full with very little. I do wish I could drink when eating. And will sip at the end. Just a strong habit to stop. But I'm working on it! You will do fine! Just keep focused on your desire to be different. Not better or worse. But different. I am happy both ways but my low back doesn't like me that heavy. So I listened (also my feet!). LOL! Update us on your journey! I'm not far from you. I'm in Houston. Good luck and I hope it all goes smoothly! Would love to see pics of the town you go to for this. I've never been there. Neat you will be traveling for this! Enjoy the journey. Take it one day at a time. Sometimes a few hours at a time. Follow all recommendations as best you can. 💗

      2. Doughgurl

Thank you so much for your well wishes. I am hoping that everything goes easy for me as well. We don't eat out much as it is, so it wont be too bad in that department. Thankfully. Also, I hear you regarding your back and feet!! I'd like to add knees to the list. Killing me as we speak! I'm only 5' so the weight has to go. Too short to carry all this weight. Menopause really did a doosey on me. (😶lol) My daughter also lives in Houston. with her Husband and my 5 grand-littles. I grew up in Beaumont, so I know Houston well, I will be sure to keep in touch and update you on my journey. I may need some advice in the future, or just motivation. Thank You so much for reaching out, I was hoping to connect with someone in the community. I really appreciate it. 💜
