What should I pack for the hospital? My doctor said I will be in the hospital for 4-5 days. Is that right? Is just preparing me for worst case scenario?

I'm only staying 1 night, hopefully. :-)

I had LB yesterday the 16th. All went well and I was able to walk around last evening. Had my upper GI this AM and passed (no leak) so then I started sipping clears. That went well and I just got home and had 2 oz Protein Drink and that went well. My hardest part was the hospital bed!! So unbelievably uncomfortable and I hardly slept ????

Came home, took a gas x, pain medicine and a nap in my bed for 1.5 hrs and I feel so much better!!

Now to go chill in my recliner and sip away!

ok those of you who just had surgery congratulations!!! Hope you are all doing well. What has been the hardest part so far?

The hardest part for me is 2 weeks after surgery my stomach decided after Breakfast it was going to stay full. I have not ate in 2 or 3 days. Could barely get the liquids in. Doctor said it was probably swelling from surgery causing it. Today I felt weak so I ended up at the hospital getting Iv fluids. I feel better. Hoping for food tomorrow.

I think my worst fear is of the unknown, the future ,the possible future complications. All those things were running thru my head. My fear is of being that one percent who has all the problems. I think I just read too much bad stuff and I let it get to me. I thought I was mentally prepared but I was not. And now I sitting here in regret...

Had the gb on the 15th and did great. Was walking about 5 hours after surgery. Only complication i had was nausea do to pain meds. I was extremely nauseous. I asked for tylenol only and felt better by the next day. Came home on Friday and still not using any pain meds. I constantly am sipping Water. Eating sugar free Jello and popsicles and broth. Went in the hospital weighing 277 released weighing 282 and As of today i weigh 269.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
