My surgery is March 9 at 8 am. I had my pre opt on Friday. I am on my second week of pre opt diet. I am getting anxious. I am ready to start a new phase of my life. I have been reading a lot of the success stories. They are very encouraging. For others being sleeved in March I wish you well and a lot of success. It will be worth all the hard work we have been tbrough.

Congratulations to everyone! For those of you who've gone through it, thumbs up!!!! Hope you're recovering beautifully! And those who's surgeries are coming up.... Eeeeeeeeee! Are you guys excited as me or what?! Time seems to be moving so super slow!!! I wish I had the hang of this website down already so I can explore. Anywho, I'm so anxious to get this new phase started! I'm turning 30 in July and my goal is to be my high school graduation weight. It may be a little ambitious, but I'm going for it! 2015 is going to be a good year for us all!! For those of you who don't know, instagram has a huge weight loss surgery community. If you haven't tapped into that resource as a support, you should! It's been really inspiring watching all the transformations from real people. Look it up with a hashtag (#) and keyword. Examples #vsg, #wls, #rny. I hope everyone's pre-op diets go well!

Just had my sleeve on March 9th. Also had hiatal hernia fixed at the same time. My surgery was in the morning on Monday, I came home

Wednesday morning. No issues with nausea, but it has been much more difficult to drink Water than I expected, let alone a Protein shake. At least that was the case until this morning. This morning I was able to sip 8oz of Water pretty easily, and I'm optimistic about my first Protein Shake.

Moving around is not bad ... walking, stairs, etc ... just have to take it a little slow to make sure not to over exert.

Mon - Wed were not fun, but things are looking up today. How about others?

My surgery was Monday morning and released the next night. I also had a

hiatal hernia repair at the same time.

It has been very difficult to drink anything as air builds up in my chest.

I have to walk until I can burp and then start again.

One other issue I have now is a lowered heart rate of 48-58 at rest. The

doctor says this is normal, however I am a concerned.

I am hopeful that things will start to get better with every passing day.

Hi all!

I had my surgery on Monday 03.09.15 & it also included corrective surgery for Hiatal Hernia too. Released on Wednesday as well & the pain is really not that bad. First 2 days were the worse & nausea both days. I knew the morphine was making me nauseas so I asked for them to remove on day 2.

I was very hopeful that this would help me get my health & life back on track for my family and myself.

5 days post op and I have read many different blogs with success stories and definitely true hard times. My doctor has informed me that the 1st year is the "honeymoon phase"- No matter what you eat, you will still lose weight, but the 2nd year should be the true test.

I just found out the night before my surgery one of my fellow colleagues had a gastric sleeve surgery 2012, and she was only able to lose 75lbs. I remember rooming with her for a week for a work conference that same year, and she wasn't eating properly at all. She was definitely eating In & Out animal style Burgers 2-3 times for dinner that week. This is what my fear is... That I have gone through this whole major decision, and I may just slowly creep back to my old ways!

I'm hoping that I'm not the only one with this fear & I hope I can be great support to anyone on here and vice versa!

Good luck to all!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
