I started at 269 and I am now 206.5. My surgery was March 31. I have been having a real struggle with cheating lately so my weight loss has slowed. I also need to go back to the gym. I am freaking out about the hair loss and trying to do everything I can to stop it or slow it down, but according to my dermatologist I just have to wait it out and get in more Protein.

Three month check-in. I'm down a total of 54 pounds...including pre-op diet. I'm sitting at 196. I have to be honest about two things. 1. I have GOT to start exercising more, I know it will help with my weight loss and how I look! 2. I'm really getting scared of the amount I can eat now, it seems to be so much larger. I will start weighing my food to see just how much I'm eating but my nutritionist not to eat over a cup of food at each meal and I think I'm pretty close!

I'm down 38 since the end of March but I get the cast off my foot tomorrow. I hope being able to put weight on my foot and move more helps me move along faster.

@@janeaddams Just wanted to say that I love your profile picture! Mrs. Beasley! Buffy, Jody, Sissy, Mr. French and Uncle Bill! Boy that's a trip down nostalgia lane! ????

And if you just happened to pick that picture out of the air and have no idea what I'm talking about - never mind. ☺️

Surgery was March 10th and I'm down 103lbs. I actually enjoy shopping for myself now! My shirts were a 3x (some were pushing it) and now my shirts are mostly XL (some XL even being to big). I want to do another 30 lbs at least I'd not 40-50 (taking small baby steps). I really don't miss food. People eat sweets and junk around me and I honestly do not care. Being "thin" and healthy is a way better feeling. I feel so wonderful! post-234390-1437402316626_thumb.jpg post-234390-14374023458293_thumb.jpg

NSV -

- Coaching daughter tball team this summer

- wrapping a normal size towel around me and it fitting!

- people that I know fairly well not seeing me for two months and not recognizing me when they do

- dressing up

- my hair - it feels amazing and looks amazing. I never realized how the food I put in my body could have an effect on my hair! Ever since surgery and better food choices my hair feels/looks good! Like I just went to the salon that day!

- exercising- it's actually a little addictive and the days I don't get my at least 3 mile walk in I feel guilty and crappy.

- my hubby being able to wrap his arms all around my waist with extra room to spare. This feels sooo good!

- my confidence - it has sky rocketed! I walk around my house in a sports bra and don't feel like I have to hide my body in front of my hubby.

I know I have so many more but this is what I can think of off my head right now.

What are some of yours?

Surgery 3/26/15

HW: 302

CW: 228 (-74)

It is sooooo crazy how if I eat bad foods (bad, bad girl), I don't feel full, but a half a scrambled egg or 3 bites of grilled chicken make me belch like crazy because I am FULL. Obviously this is how I hit 302. It's getting a lot easier to live my new life but I could always use more exercise. Lots of great NSVs :)

Great job, everyone!!!

---- One more thing -- how the H does low-fat vanilla yogurt have 40 grams of sugar and honey roasted peanuts have 4 grams? The sugar content of foods has definitely been eye-opening.

I tried to do the Buffy pigtails, but could never pull it off.

Funny to think this was a Buffy that was pre Vampire Slayer era. My dog is named Buffy. ????

Hi everyone! :) So nice to see everyone's progress. I had surgery on March 24th and I'm down 68 lbs. Yay. I'm too need to start exercising! That's a big hurdle for me! <_< I feel so much better. I can't believe how much easier it is to move around. So very happy! I think I have about 20 more pounds to lose and then I'll see how I feel about where I'm at. Question for you guys. Do you have anything you can't eat? For me, it's scones. So strange! It feels like a rock in my belly and then my stomach is cranky for days afterwards. Like everything I eat makes me feel bad...almost a little nauseous. Just wondering if you guys suffer from the same thing.

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

Life as a big person had limited my life to what I knew I could manage to do each day. That was eat. I hadn't anything else to look forward to. So my eating choices were the best I could dream up. I planned the cooking in managable lots in my head and filled my day with and around it.

Now I have a whole new big, bigger, biggest, best days ever. I am out there with those skinny people doing stuff i could never have dreamt of. Food is now an after thought. It doesn't consume my day. I still enjoy the good home cooked food but I eat smaller portions. I leave food on my plate when I am full. I can no longer hear my mother's voice saying eat it all up, ther are starving children in Africa who would want that!

I still cook for family feasts, I love cooking. I still do holidays but I have changed from the All inclusive drinking and eating everything everyday kind to Self catering accommodation. This gives me the choice of cooking or eating out as I choose. I rarely drink anymore as I usually travel alone now and I feel I need to keep aware of my surroundings.

I don't know at what point my life expanded, was it when I lost 100 pounds? Was it when I left my walking stick at home ? Was it when I said yes to an outing instead of finding an excuse to stay home ? i look back at my last five years and wonder how loosing weight has made such a difference. Be ready to amaze yourself.

BTW, the liquid diet sucks, one more day and you are over the worst. You can do it.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!
