Hello all. I was sleeved on 12/30/2014. I too am falling back into old habits. I restarted my food journal. I find that I am eating around 2k a day. Still working on getting the Protein up though. Does 2k calories seem normal to any of you? I travel quite a bit for work and I have been unable to make my support group meetings. If anyone has suggestions please let me know. Thanks you!

Hi all, I was sleeved Dec 30, 2014 and pretty much failed.

I was hoping the sleeve would curb my tendency to eat the wrong foods or eat too much and it did work for awhile in the beginning by making me vomit. I would then cut back. But, I fell back into old habits eating the wrong foods and I fear I have stretched my stomach back out because I can hold/eat about the same amount of food as I did before surgery.

I have not lost any weight since about a month after surgery and it's been over a year now that I have been beating myself up because I felt this was my last resort. I know it's my fault. I haven't done much research if there is anything I can do about it now.

I hope that anyone thinking about doing this surgery and feels they can 'work the system' to just get it realizes, like I do now, that you really need to change the way you eat for the rest of your life. I thought differently and failed.

Glad to see others who have succeeded though!

40 lbs down in a little over a year? Wow, when was the last time you did that?

Believe me, I'm not lighting the world on fire either, but I'm sure a heck of a lot better off now than I was before surgery.

I know more than I did before, do you?

The 40lbs lost was pre-op.

Currently I weight 360lbs. I haven't updated the tracker.

You write about failure, but you can't fail unless you give up. Since you wrote on this forum maybe that means you might not be ready to give up yet. I could ask you all the obvious questions, but I'm not going to. I'll ask this one though, have you considered a revision from sleeve to bypass? Would that be an option you would be interested in?

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
