Yup its normal and very very unpleasant. I had my surgery on the 28th of Jan. I actually threw up quite a bit of blood and felt nauseous. After the last episode i felt that pressure lesson and was beginning to feel a lil better. I had to stay an extra day at the hospital for observation but Dr said it was normal. So i came home yesterday afternoon and have been feeling ok. Still a lil tired throughout the day but all in all much better. Still feel a lil gas inside but passing gas helps and doesn't hurt like burping does.

The gas definitely has to work it's way out. Try walking around and that helps tremendously! And you'll feel even better after your first bowel movement (after surgery)

Completely normal. I had pain in one of my incisions for 3 weeks (my gallbladder removal incision). I was a lucky one to not have the gas pain. My surgeon really works hard to get all of it out. I was shocked! For now just walk, walk, walk. :)

It is uncomfortable. I know that the pain meds made me nauseous so once I stopped them, I felt much better. But, if I had been feeling pain, I would have gone back on them! That was just my experience. But it does hurt!!

100percent normal and very unpleasant! The absolutely best thing you can do is walk walk walk. When you are sitting or laying a heating pad on your tummy provided glorious relief.

The good news, it should be gone over the next week.

Stay hydrated and walk as much as you can tolerate.

I hope you have a speedy recovery!

Good luck....

Stay hydrated, and use a heating pad on your tummy. That's what saved me.

Really?! I used to only drink room temperature water now. It has to be absolutely ice cold. Like, I freeze it and drink as it melts

@@coastalchick it looks like the colder the liquid the better it goes down. So i am keeping my liquids cold, easier for them to go down.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
