I recently was diagnosed with dumping syndrome and am NOT diabetic but having troubles with my sugars tanking to 50's and sometimes as low as down into the 30's. We are doing more tests to find out if anything else is going on. Does anyone have suggestions on how to manage with dumping syndrome. I had the sleeve done in Jan of 2013.

It usually happens to me when I eat something that's high in fat and sugar. These are not things I should be eating anyway. If I eat right, I don't have these problems.

Are you eating a high Protein, low carb diet?

I've had Dumping about 6 times since my December 2 surgery. Lord only knows why. That will drain and dehydrate you

Did you ever find out how to treat dumping syndrome? I'm very interested because I haven't been able to work for over a week now because I never know when it's going to happen. I get really hot and start sweating and shaking then I run to the bathroom. Imodium doesn't even help. I would like to know if this is what you were having and how you control it.

It sucks so bad. Avoid sugar and fat combos. Avoid sweets. Avoid eating too much at one time. Dairy does it to me every time.

Sorry you're experiencing this. For me it's an almost daily struggle.

Dumping is the worst! I also get it when I eat too quickly or eat something that has too much sugar or oil. Now I try to eat slowly and taste foods and wait to see how it goes down. After several months, I don't like eating out because of this.

Not sure if this is what I'm experiencing. I have gained 20lbs I find all I could eat was chocolate I recently are 2 large candy bars I won't. I usually Luke everything up case it hurts. How I feel now is I can't eat anything I tried to eat cream of wheat and instantly I go in to puke it up. Great!! I guess is this how I lose that 20 lbs is this that dumping. Cause this hurts. Not fun will this go away?

Ummmm. I'm sorry you're feeling this way but if all you can eat is chocolate it's doubtful you have dumping!!! Dumping is usually due to fat and sugar combinations. It doesn't cause pain.

You seem to be eating a lot of carbs. Cream of wheat is all carb. If you're gaining weight I'd look to that. Stay away from chocolate for sure. Hope you figure it out and feel better soon.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
