Most of the people in America claim to be christian. I say lets go with the majority vote. I've always felt that controversial issues should be voted upon by the American people. Why can't we put these things to a vote like we do the presidency. A one time vote every 5 or 10 years. All the questions on the ballot. Abortion, Gay marriages, death penalty, etc.

If this was a majority vote...look at the poll results so far...abortion would be legal. Pro-choice is the majority on this poll (If you look at the percentages up top)...So...Are you sure you know what you are asking for? As someone said before there are "Christians" that are pro-choice...

I did not in any part of my post say "proper". I did not say it was murder. I said that is the way it is now. I did not say agreed with it. I said that right now if an abortion is done illegally that the woman is held reasponsible for the death...I didn;t say where I stood one that issue...maybe you should read my posts more than once before you come at me with logic....thank you.

Sorry for putting words in your mouth. It really did sound like you agreed with the current legal situation. So where do you stand on the issue?

I think it is good that babies are being saved sooner. Not all of them have problems.

you would not say that if you have been in an NICU and see them and the issues they have.

its NOT a good idea to save babies sooner all the time

There are reasons there are guidlines.

There's an interesting nuance. The majority does not support abortion on demand through all 9 months of pregnancy, as is the current law of the land. The majority actually supports some pretty significant limitations on abortion. The stances are all over the lot (first trimester, second trimester, no abortion at all, only in cases of rape/incest/life of the mother, etc.). But as it currently stands in the opinion polls, the majority are not 100% in favor of abortion through all 9 months.

We're also seeing a trend towards more and more youth being more and more pro-life, so as time goes on the numbers wanting abortion to be illegal grows.

I just wanted to say also that my brother who is adopted was a crack baby and was born early and was in NICU. He is 13 now and he is just fine. I'm glad he was given a chance.

I am not saying that not all babies deserve a chance. However , I am saying that if guidelines are set up for babies to be "viable" it is not up to the docs to push the limits time and time again at 20, 19, 18 weeks. Its just not. docs have been known to do it to "see' if they can be the "First" to have a live birth at that gestation age. its playing" God" and not right.

I have no problem with a fetus having a chance at 28,30 plus weeks because their lungs and development are more advanced.

There is a BIG different between 20 and 30 weeks .

I am glad he is ok. He's very luck to have no complications.

I have taken care of Crack babies and its one of the worst situations for those poor babies.

Abortiion is legal in all 9 months in limited circumstances.

You cant just go in your 9th month and say " I want an abortion"

I'm not really sure how early he was. All I really remember was he was very tiny. Yea, I know, he is very lucky not to have any problems. His mother was a prostitute addicted to drugs. He used to be really hyper, but he is fine now.

I don't know of a state where a woman can go get an abortion at 9 months just because she wants one. In the state I live in it is only legal up to 12 weeks. In Georgia, the next state over, I think the legal limit is 24 weeks. Is there a state that has it legal past that??

I am so tied of it always being an arguement instead of just a conversation. I think abortions should be legal which would mean that it wouldn't be consdered illegal/murder. I think that murder should only be used if therson was killing with an evil intent...Nothing you can say will make me question where I stand in any of this. I stand where I am because it is my opinion. I don't need you to "help" me look at the logic or see the "problem" here...it is my belief...that is why it is called MY belief and not YOURS!

Try to step away from the whole emotional and experiential component of abortion and think this through from a logical standpoint. Do you see why there are problems here?

Asking me to take my emotions and experience out of this is like telling you to remove your logic or patty to remove her god...We all have different reasons for where we stand...We shouldn't have to shut off that part of who we are and what we believe.

Roe and the companion case Doe guaranteed abortion through all 9 months of pregnancy for any reason whatsoever. If you want the fine print on the determination, I'd be happy to tell you (just let me know because I don't want to type the whole thing out if you're not interested).

The reason it's currently "illegal" after a certain period in certain states is because the law has not been challenged in the Supreme Court. Every time it is challenged, the restricting law is overturned.

There are very few doctors who can stomach a 9th month abortion, but they're out there. One of the most infamous ones is Tiller, aka "Tiller the Killer" in Kansas. But yes, there are abortionists around the country show "specialize" in 2nd and 3rd trimester abortions. And yes, you can just "walk in" and get one. Well, given that it's a several-day procedure, you can't just "walk in", but essentailly you can.

Four days post surgery. I am sipping as fast as I can and getting NO WHERE near the goal of 60 - 80 grams of protein or the 64 oz of liquids. I just feel FULL. I don't know if it can still be the gas build up (I would think by now that would be gone) but it is a struggle to drink. And so far I have not had the nausea or spasms and don't want to wander into that territory by pushing too hard with liquids. I about passed out today as it was my most "strenuous" day. Went from second story to basement for shower and I was sure I was going to pass out. Looking back on my last few days I have had a total of less than 1000 calories. Am I just not getting enough nourishment in me? Once again a friday where I can't get ahold of the doc until Monday rolls back around so I am hoping maybe someone here has some experience on how to keep energy going. I do have fibromyalgia too and that may be where some added fatigue comes into play. How did you all fair with the goals the week after surgery?

2 days until I fly out to San Diego to have my Bypass Surg. in Tiajuana Mexico. Not gonna lie, the nerves are starting to surface. I don't fear the surgery itself, or the fact that I'm traveling alone, but its the aftermath that I'm stressing about the most, after this 8 week wait. I'm excited to finally be here, but I am really dreading the post surgical chapter. I know its going to be tough, real tough and I think I'm just in my head to much now that the day i here. Wish me luck, Hopefully I'm one of the lucky ones, and everything goes smoothly. Cant wait to give an exciting update,. If there is anyone else have a June bypass or even a recent one, Id love to have someone to compare war stories with. Also, anyone near San Antonio Tx? See ya soon with the future me. 💜

I'm in Houston so kind of near you and had the sleeve in Dec. Down 61 lbs. Feeling better. Was definitely worth it. I hope the everything is going well for you. Update us when you can!

I am back home after my bypass surgery in Tiajuana. I'm post op day 4. Everything went great! I guess I'm one of the lucky ones who have not encountered much pain at all, no nausea thus far and I'm having no problem keeping down broths and water. Thank you for your well wishes. I cant wait to keep up this journey and have a chance at better health and simply better quality of life. I know there will be bumps in the road ahead, and everything won't be peaches and cream, but at least I have a great start so far. 😍

I am new here today... and only two weeks out from my sleeve surgery on the 23rd. I am amazed I have kept my calories down to 467 today so far... that leaves me almost 750 left for dinner and maybe a snack. This is going to be tough for two weeks... but I have to believe I can do it!

Hey everyone. I'm new here so I thought I should introduce myself. I am 53y/o and am scheduled for Gastric Bypass on June 25th, 2025. I'm located in San Antonio, Texas. I will be having my surgery in Tiajuana Mexico. I've wanted this for years, but I always had insurance where bariatric procedures were excluded. Finally I am able to afford to pay out of pocket.  I can't wait to get started, and I hope I'm prepared for the initial period of "hell". I know what I have signed up for, but I'm sure the good to come will out way the temporary period of discomfort and feelings of regret. I'd love to find people to talk to who have been through the same procedure or experience before. So I look forward to meeting you all. Hope you have a great week!

I'm so happy for you! You are about to change your life. I was so glad to get the sleeve done in Dec. I didn't have feelings of regret overall. And I'm down almost 60 lbs. I do feel a little sad at restaurants. I can barely eat half a kid's meal. I get adults meals often because kid ones don't have the same offerings at times. Then I feel obligated to eat on that until it's gone and that can be days. So the restaurant thing isn't great for me. All the rest is fine by me! I love feeling full with very little. I do wish I could drink when eating. And will sip at the end. Just a strong habit to stop. But I'm working on it! You will do fine! Just keep focused on your desire to be different. Not better or worse. But different. I am happy both ways but my low back doesn't like me that heavy. So I listened (also my feet!). LOL! Update us on your journey! I'm not far from you. I'm in Houston. Good luck and I hope it all goes smoothly! Would love to see pics of the town you go to for this. I've never been there. Neat you will be traveling for this! Enjoy the journey. Take it one day at a time. Sometimes a few hours at a time. Follow all recommendations as best you can. 💗

Thank you so much for your well wishes. I am hoping that everything goes easy for me as well. We don't eat out much as it is, so it wont be too bad in that department. Thankfully. Also, I hear you regarding your back and feet!! I'd like to add knees to the list. Killing me as we speak! I'm only 5' so the weight has to go. Too short to carry all this weight. Menopause really did a doosey on me. (😶lol) My daughter also lives in Houston. with her Husband and my 5 grand-littles. I grew up in Beaumont, so I know Houston well, I will be sure to keep in touch and update you on my journey. I may need some advice in the future, or just motivation. Thank You so much for reaching out, I was hoping to connect with someone in the community. I really appreciate it. 💜
