When to change clothing sizes?

Recommended Posts

When my pants were falling down I then transferred to the next size. Shirts are easier to were baggy lol. I purged my closet at 60 pounds. I am now down 75. Next purge is at 100 pounds down.

I am down about 35 and had to get new clothes because a co-worker let me know that my pants looked ridiculously big! I found a nice little consignment shop and bought some work pants. Also, I am losing faster up top than on the bottom.

I think I was right around 45 to 50 pounds before I got rid of the bigger stuff and started wearing the smaller stuff. I too stocked up ahead of time at goodwill, Salvation Army, etc. I still have a way to go before I start buying new for myself, but my husband has gotten close enough to his goal weight that we actually spent some serious money on new clothes for him this month. He's down from a 3xl shirt and 44 to 46 waist pants to a m/l shirt and 32 waist pants!

I am 55 pounds down and made a trip to Goodwill like many others. I also took two large bags of too large clothes with me to donate. I bought two or three pants in current size and two sizes smaller. I also bought shirts in medium and large. My 3&2 XLs started looking ridiculous on me! Can now easily wear XL and some larges. But I got everything at a great price so I don't mind only using them for a short time!

Sounds like everyone is doing great! And looks like I'm following in the same pattern. I'm about 54 down this morning and as soon as I find the time, I'll be heading to goodwill.

For me, every 15 pounds seems to be when I am ready to go down a pants size. Shirts are less predictable. Thrift stores have been super helpful since I don't want to invest much money until I reach my goal!

I wasted a good $20 bill on a new pair of jeans at the end of summer.

Yesterday they looked ridiculous! If it weren't for the belt...

I'll stick with used for the most part. However I got a gift card to my favorite department store. I think I'll buy clothes to get into in the future on clearance.

Everything that was in the pile of "not quite yet" fit or are too big.

Such problems.

I have a couple totes full of clothes to go to a consignment shop.

I bought a dress on clearance for $10 for an event and used a Lane Bryant gift card to buy some compression yoga pants/top and a sports bra. I don't plan on buying any other new clothes. I'm hoping the winter will hide how baggy some things are and enjoying briefly wearing things that had gotten too snug.

I washed all my jeans the other night hoping they would fit better. Nope. Good thing I'm wearing cute panties, the day might not end without my pants literally falling off.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
