My pain was really terrible for 2 weeks. Godawful. Then it suddenly got better. At 30 days, I could sleep in any position, move freely without pain. Please rest and take those pain meds. I promise you will get past it and be so happy you did it. It is temporary and so worth it.

I can't wait till i get to eat meat! I have not had solid foods since the 29th. That is 19 days!!! Ugh. I now know what they mean by head hunger. Stomach not hungry but your eyes and mind wants everything. Can't wait till i get to the point i can eat like a chipmunk and be satisfied. ????

I had very little pain. I didn't have a drain though. I agree about the ride (2 hrs) home! What pain I didn't have in the hospital, about did me in on the ride home. I kept bloating and bloating. Had to stop because I thought I was going to heave. Nausea was the worst part about the surgery.

After my surgery every commercial on tv made me want everything! I don't even like some of the things but I wanted it!

Well my friend, you were not far from the truth. LOL You will experience a liquid "mess" when you finally make it home. Your first few bowl movements will be interesting due to all the IV liquid they pump into you and a IV Vitamin bag. They hook you up with Vitamins for the next month. (At least mine did).
But they gave me Pepcid for heartburn. I guess they know it is coming??! No Constipation so far, as a matter of fact I can use some. lol And the nausea really goes away. That was more related to the anesthesia and the fresh surgery being done. It will subside.
But if you haven't done the surgery yet and you know that you suffer from nausea after the anesthesia wears off (like me) ***VERY IMPORTANT** make sure the anesthesiologist knows this ahead of time. They will have a cocktail of meds for your nausea the minute they see you waking up. I remember this, all I could see was shadows in front of me and I couldn't talk but I kept pounding my chest because I had lots of pressure (gas) and the nausea was terrible. God aweful feeling. But they gave me that cocktail through IV and it went away quickly at the moment and off to sleep I went.
Yes, they give you a pain pump and then take you off after a day and give you oral pain meds. You end up with percocet or close to it for home. Honestly, I only used it 3 times since I got home. What hurts the most is the gas. Once you pass that gas, you will feel a lot less pain. Just the kind as if you did a lot of situps.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
