So disappointed in my self

Lately I have been eating alot more then I was able and I think I am getting carried away. I'm eating about 5 meals a day and I was told it had to be 3 meals a day I'm so disappointed on my self and I hope I didn't stretch out my sleeve I feel like I can eat so much now im almost 10 weeks out please help me how can I get back on track and how do I know if I stretched my sleeve out can I do some things to shrink it again ? Seriously freaking out now

My surgeon recommends 5 mini (and I do mean small, petite, tiny) meals per day. I was advised that eating small portions was#1 success factor and although I screw up at times I work hard to eat small, while eating enough to satiate hunger for a out 3 hours so you don't graze.

During loss phase I did settle on 4 meals a day. I lost 160#so I guess it worked.

At 10 weeks out, eating small is way more important than staying with 3 meals a day in my opinion.

The good thing is that you have identified theres a slight set back if you want to call it that with yourself. Do you feel full and still think " oh maybe a little bit more...." ...with your next meal...try to not only time how long you bite...chew swallow.....is it fast? Also as soon as you feel that SLIGHT ...suggestion "oh i feel a bit full......STOP...just sit and chat..or take some water...remember it usually takes 20 mins for the brain to realise youve eaten...(pre op) im not sure if same post op. If you then start to feel....yep getting full...stop. try to trash thecremaining food so youre not tempted...ive heard it takes linger for the brain to catch up with the stomach.

I'm eating to fast and having candy (chocolate) I guess I have to slow down I think small tiny meals will be best also what should I have and how much chicken first or vegetable first

Oh...standard advice...nerves aren't all healed till about 12 weeks so DON'T trust your hunger signals. Eat by measuring spoon and clock at this phase (don't worry, that isn't forever).

Also, excess acid feels like hunger....what are you taking for that?

I'm not taking anything for acid actually that maybe what is making me feel hungry all the time also how much do you think I should be eating at 10 weeks in OZ

So, what's the nutritional value of candy? Are you getting the recommended amount of Protein? Are you getting in 48-60 oz Water? Are you feeling restriction? Those are the basics. Maybe track your meals on Sparkpeople or My Fitness Pal, both let you plug in what you've eaten and calculates for calories, Proteins, carbs, fats. If you're not feeling restriction or getting a full signal, talk to your surgical team. Good Luck!

Your absolutely right I need to stop with the chocolate and follow exactly what the doctor said I need more water and my protein is what I'm supposed to be taking .

I recommend starting with 1 ounce of meat and slowly eating it first. Then eat an ounce or two of vegetabes. I was told not to eat more than 3/4 cup in one sitting. Wait 30 minutes then start working on your Fluid intake. As someone mentioned before, it takes your brain awhile to catch up and realize you are full.

Im 4 weeks out and I stop myself at 3 ounces. My nutritionist said if I am getting less than the recommended 96 ounces of fluids a day, that I need to substitute a meal for a Protein shake. If you are eating as much as you say, how much fluids are you getting.

And yes, step away from the chocolate...it is sabotaging yourself.

You should be following your surgeons recommendations. Mine recommended always Protein first. Don't have more than 1/2-3/4 cup VOLUME of food at a time, but of course that varies by density. Example, no way try to eat 3/4 cup of dense Protein.< /p>

So, you might have a few ounces of fish and small serving of nutritional veggies as a meal.

I am 3 years out and still eat on small plates. highly recommend you eat on essentially a tea plate - the smallest of the small plates for now. I use appetizer forks too.

No candy, no booze, no junk right now if you want maximize your results. Most surgeons have people on an acid inhibiter first few months - it really does help with that strange burning hunger kind of feeling.

      Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

      I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
      I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
