Guys! This liquid diet thing has got me ILL. Headaches, weak feeling, dizzy!

Day 3 and I feel like I should just sleep until march 3rd!

But--positivity makes the world go round--or at least that's what im telling myself. It's gonna be worth it! Who needs chewing? I'm not actually HUNGRY. I'm just blech.

I'm actually kind of sick to my stomach..but tomorrow's another day.

My doc was really casual about it. I went in 2 days ago for my consent signing and anesthesia consent. I said....when should I start? And he said..it's in 12 days...you can start now or tomorrow. And then he said...just no cheating the last 7 days. So now I'm thinking...was that a silent "okay to cheat" for 5 days? Lol.

I'm a worry wart so i want my liver to be as teensy as possible just so I don't get hurt lol. I have about 100-120 to lose for my own personal goal. I might as well hit the ground running, I guess.

My friend who has much more to lose was told to expect about 15-20 days at the end. And another person said he didn't have to do one at all except the day before.

Surgeons are super different it seems. I'm just gonna stick to mine and keep my mouth quiet while I mourn the loss of the cheezits in the snack bin at work. Haha

@@kaninag my physician told mr the length of the preoperative diet depends on your BMI. 35 - 40 is 7 days. Over 40 is 14 days.

I'm finishing week one of pre-op diet and haven't been feeling too well. I haven't been hungary but have mainly felt drained. Went to my pre-op class on Thursday and met the other five folks that are having procedures too. I go see my pirmary care physician this week to discuss changing meds and final pre-op exam. One more week to go!

I am scheduled for my sleeve surgery on March 9. I appreciate all the support from this forum. It helps to hear from those who have already had surgery and those who are in the process.

March 16th is my new date. I started this process in dec 2013. After a long 6 month supervised diet and all- my insurances at the time UHC, denied it. My doctor appealed it and won. But it was towards the end of the year, so I wasn't able to schedule it. Then the new insurance denied me bc they felt the WLS surgeon, NUT, and psychologist stuff was too old ... So then I had to redo all of those.

After all is said and done, with two insurance denials and two won appeals/resubmission. I'm slated for March.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...
