Two years two months ago I started my journey

Recommended Posts

I'm 42 and I am so happy about my choice two years ago. Two years have passed and I'm still a work in progress which actually keeps me motivated to continue. I'm down 125 lbs and want so badly to get what I thought was going to be a Tummy Tuck has turned into a body lift. Oh well it's all worth it. Lose skin is not fun. I need it gone I am a size 8-10 depending on the brand ms I was told with a body lift I would be a 6. Not that clothes size matters in this journey but I don't ever remember being a 6. Lol !! post-167614-1420311851516_thumb.jpg post-167614-14203118894608_thumb.jpg post-167614-1420311924629_thumb.jpg

I figured my tummy would be the problem, but my arms (wings) and my face are bearing the brunt of the damage. I figure a face lift will be my required surgery... I am looking tired, old and sad but on the inside I feel so young and full of energy.

You look awesome. You look very young, like you're in your 20's.!! Congratulations! ![emoji3] I'm wondering if you had trouble with loose skin??

Do you mind if I ask how old you are? I am worried about my face. I've seen people that have had the gastric bypass and the two people I know look a lot older in the face now. I plan on getting the sleeve in a few months but don't want to end up looking older than I am. I'm 45 but everyone thinks I'm 35.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
