How long after surgery did you experience hair loss? What was the worst month?

Recommended Posts

I am 2 months out and am experiencing a great amount of Hair loss. Should I have this much this soon? If so, what will the following months look like. Do I need to research wigs now?

It will last for about 2 to 3 months until you can get the necessary Protein in. But I found that prenatal Vitamins and Biotin are a great help in slowing down and stopping Hair loss. Don't worry it will definitely grow back for me it grew back much thicker than before

I took Biotin from day one. My hair thinned out a bit but only I could notice and it wasn't actually visible. WHen I put it into a ponytail to work out, that is when I can tell--the pony tail is much thinner. But I can also tell I have a lot of regrowth coming in.

I'm worried about this.

This was my number one concern before surgery. My hair is fine and thin and was already thinning on top. I had surgery Sept 16th and my hair started coming out at the two month mark and it's still coming out. When I wash my hair, my hands are covered in hair. It's everywhere in my house.

I'm hoping it starts to slow down soon, otherwise I'm going to have to buy a wig.

I had general anesthetic three times in 8 months. They warned me that I would start losing my hair. I started taking Biotin and Vitamins (at the recommendation of my surgeon, I take Flintstones for Kids!) right away. I am two months out (Oct 28) and my hair is falling out, but very slowly. If you are pre-opband worried about this, you might want to start now.

Ojon revitalizing and thickening Shampoo is amazing! I use to have really thick hair and starting at about 3 months it fell out by the handfuls. It got so thin that you could see scalp. I did some research and so far the best product I've found was this ojon. I got it at Ulta. It's like $25 for the shampoo and another $24 for the conditioner, but we'll worth the money. I wash my hair every two days and it instantly began to feel like my old head of hair again. I love, love, love it!!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
