Hi my name is Terri - I lost 102 lbs in about 1 1/2 yrs. I was banded Feb 15, 2005 and have maintained that until recently (now I am pregnant). I live in Houston, TX and my Doctor is Dr. Hadar Spivak (he is a wonderful man and his staff is just a great as he is). My sister, Chandra, had it done just 6 months ago (my whole family was totally against it when I had it done). I have no regrets and I am so glad I had the lap band done. If anyone needs anything or has questions, please feel free to ask (I will try to be as helpful as possible). I did a commercial for my doctor (when he saw me up at the hospital when he was doing my sisters band he asked me if I would do this) it is on Channel 11 (Houston of course) with a before and after pic.:clap2:

can i ask before you lost your weight did you have problems in getting pregnant, Ive been told my blood test show i have signs of going through the change that's one reason i decided to have the band done as i would get my health back and if i went for ivf i would be guaranteed a child, i do have a daughter age 10yrs which i used the fertility drug clomid if your self or any other ladies can help i would be grateful I'm 37yrs

I have a 10 year old daughter myself. I however did not have a problem getting pregnant before the weight loss, but have talked with several women over the past few years, and like you had problems and all of a sudden (most of then less than a year after the surgery) found out they were pregnant. SO i would say chances of you getting pregnant after the lap band will be much greater and I will pray it just happens for you with out all the fertility this time around. Let me know if I can help in anyway or always wanting to chat about anything if you need to talk.
