I was warned that I would feel more cold after surgery with all the weight loss, so I expected to be cold this winter (hate Iowa winters to begin with)! Was wondering if I will always feel this cold? Or does your body eventually re-adjust and regulate better?

Cold doesn't even begin to describe how I feel!! Living in Iowa you would think I would be used to it! It has gotten worse and nothing seems to warm me up! I have the best boyfriend that has bought me a heated mattress pad do at least I can sleep at night!

I have always been hot natured- I am freezing now as well. I thought I was going crazy. Maybe when we get to our goal weight it regulates. I sleep with a heating pad.

I'm laughing because Iive in canada. Where it is truly cold. I am 11 months post op gastric bypass and am still always cold. I've heard it takes up to 2 years for your body's internal thermostat to readjust to your new lower weight.

7 months and still cold. Office buildings are the worst. But in my own house I'm fine. I mean it's December and I'm wearing a short sleeve t-shirt. But I'm at home. If I were in an office building, I'd be sitting in a cubicle freezing.

Yup, I'm cold too. Funny thing is that before my surgery I was always hot and my wife was always cold. Now it's the reverse and we have totally flipped how we set the thermostat.. We are both in our 50s. Should I be worried about her feeling warm????!!! :o :D

Two years out, and still cold. Not quite as bad as when I was losing. Even in the middle of summer when everyone else is sweating and miserable, I'm not! I love that part. I don't love freezing in Michigan winters, though! I have a lot of warm clothes and blankets. This type of cold is almost painful, and I don't expect it to ever go away totally.

I am only a week out, but I am constantly hot. Hotter then even before the surgery. I'm in MD and it's not hot here.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
