Awesome Traci!!!!

Okay so my son just ran out of my room and banged his head on my doorknob. WTF. Seriously I feel bad for laughing but it was the funniest damn thing.

defiantly not!!!

I do have a wonderful thing to share. I hit my 100+ mark at the doctir today as well, and I got my picture taken, and am not going back to see him until June 3....I will be right past my 1 year mark.I am setting some serious goals. But what was exciting is that I lost 22 lbs since I was there last month!!! WOHOOOOOOOOOOO

So.....get some sleep turler......this will be so worth it...you have fought hard to get here, and you deserve every bit that you get from the success of the band

HP,

22 pounds in a month is impressive! Espeically nearly a year out from surgery! Congratulations.

You must be kickin some serious ass and taking names.

ok. can i just bitch for a second about freaking indigestion - heartburn - reflux - or whatever you want to call it?!?!?

Ouchhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!

At work (I heart working in a hospital!) I took a couple swigs of maalox, and chewed about 6-8 tums. I talked to my fave Resident there and he suggestion Omeprazole... the Walmart version is small tablets... its a once a day acid reducer. We use it alot at the hospital So, I'm taking that once a day for 14 days. Chewing tums until it kicks in. Damn. My chest is on fire. Nothing helps... I even caved in and tried some ice cream, which burned even more.

I don't think I'm really too tight, I can eat fine. I have good restriction, but I can eat and drink fine. Wahhhh!!

*end bitching*

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.
