WTG J!!!! I don't remember you ever telling us that you love your bike, but then again, I never tell you that either. LMAO....it is sooooo amazing now that I am getting fit and healthy the way I think....when I was running (well, kinda jogging, plodding) last night I wanted to stop sometimes and then I kept passing these bleachers and thought of JC and how if he can do it I can too!!!!!

HP, hang tight, everything will be fine!!!

HP, hope you are feeling better!

BG, how are the sticks?

J, your insight is astounding, you are truly gifted.

D, we help each other here, whenever I want to quit slack off or give it less than my all, I think of you guys and somehow find a little extra. (doesn't hurt that I aint right in the head either) but still you guys give me something I would not have, or have as much of, if you weren't there on my mind.

B, how bout an update.

JJ, we've got to get you better connected! It's hard to read a million pages after a hard day of work. One of these would help.

John had some issues with his form in the World Record attempt. He had the strength just screwed up a bit. He did however set a new state record in his weight class for the deadlift. That's my boy! :-)

I hate my restriction...sakes alive, it kicks in when I least expect it to. I'm hungry too. I'm trying hard not to fall into the soft food trap...Bitch ass mini meatballs with sauce has got me on the verge of a PBing. Broccoli too.

Maybe its the broccoli. This would be two for two.

JC-Cool about John and the state record.

D- We all do heart our bikes. Well maybe not BG, she's a bike abuser. But I bet when she get a new road bike she won't throw it at anyone in a fit.

HP- Hope things are well with your man.

BG- We are having some crazy tornado weather here. How 'bout you?

I chose not to tell my husband about what I am feeling. It would be blown out of proportion, and that is not my intention at all. My feeling's and insecurity should not be his problem at all.

Although, I still have the feelings, I am not going to make an issue of them and start a fight. He thinks I am mad....LOL I am not mad at him....just in a funk....

Jc...congrats on your son...that is wonderful...

I like my bike, I can't say I love it....wait till I get my road bike.

Well, I am going to go for now....everyone have a good evening.......

BG...did you go bike shopping with your friend???

Hey Gang,

Went for a 2 mile walk this AM, then spent the rest of the day sleeping off a rough week. Dog is doing much better, but like her daddy, she only gets to eat a few spoonfuls of food every hour on the hour.

JC - If we're going to recommend someone get a phone for surfing the web, then Apple - iPhone really seems like the best answer (of course, I have my personal biases)...

HP - I'm sorry that you had such a rough morning. I think everyone else's comments pretty much cover it, but isn't it heartening to know that there are people who will listen and offer their support? Also, thank you for posting yesterday's inspirational message! It perfectly describes how I am choosing to live my life (not that I don't sometimes fall into old ways of living where shit just happens and I let events over take me).

BG - Hope you're enjoying your trip. Went to the UP once about 10 years ago. It was beautiful in autumn.

J - Sounds like a good ride, although strong headwinds are a bitch...

J, Broccoli and all things leafy used to hang me up every time!

B, I looooooovvvvve that dogone Iphone. Promise you that I do, but the price. I know, you get what you pay for, it would just slow down the new toy alerts big time! Although, it would be one of the best alerts out there! I WILL own one eventually! I dream about that thing the way some of you dream about a road bike! I am such a Nerd/Geek!

I am glad to hear Grumpy and Daddy are recovering.

Hey,

This is something I forgot to mention...

Yesterday I had to get a gift card for a friend's birthday. I went to Kohls. I thought I'd see what was on sale for me. They had golf shrit/polos whatever you call them. I picked up a 2x then thought well, see how tight a 1x is, maybe pick up one for the later. I tried on the 1x and it FIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I wore it to the party.

I've not wore a one X, in a very very very very long time.

It might have been snug, but it wasn't obscene.

Thanks for letting me share.

Now that I'm a little more awake, I thought I'd respond more... (besides, I just can't stay away from here for more than a few wakeful minutes without going into withdrawals...)

JC - Wife and I got our iPhones the day they came out (and I had the "red badge of stupidity" sunburn from hell). I love the damn thing. We were going to wait for some of the hoopla to die down, but my Treo suffered an unfortunate accident (I ran over it...) that morning, so what the hell... They were a little spendy, but fuck it, you only live once.

Congratulations to your son. That had to be so exciting to try for a world record!!

Thanks for the thoughts for Grumps - we may be back on our way to the ER, though. She seems to have developed a urinary tract infection secondary to all the other crap that's been wrong. Boxers are funny - they have an incredible pain tolerance, so things that would normally make other dogs cry in pain to let you know they are sick do not seem to affect her at all.

D - How's that road bike treating you? Look forward to more woohoo ride reports!!

J - Woohoo on the new shirt! I'm sure that felt fantastic I'll have to let the wife know that broccoli is a bad idea and will be permanently off my menu (breaks my heart...)

JJ - Sorry that no one was around last night.

Job, Slack - y'all out there?

B, I feel ya on the phone thing, my treo met with a similar fate, and my nextel,,,,,, well, I have never been angrier at an inanimate object in my entire life!!!!!!!!!!!! Still, I'm afraid that I am stuck with the lowly 8525 for a while. I hope your girl gets better soon.

Maybe we should start calling J onederwoman. Congrats, I still savor the way I felt when I bought my first shirt that wasn't a 3x.

Awe, sweet victory J!! That's all I can say about the 1x shirt....sweet victory!!! Love it, love it, love it!!!

HP, are you okay this evening? Don't let his get between you and DH's riding. This is for you and your health.

BG, are you in Deliverance country? Picking on your banjo on the front porch?

My son's car got vandalized last night. Put a hole in back drivers window, wrote FAGGOT with a huge ass picture of a penis spurting out on the whole hood of the car in black sharpie. It is a mess!!! I sure hope he doesn't find out who did it cuz I am going to have to bail him out of jail if he does. That car is his baaaaaabbyyyyyyyy!!! It sucks.

Went for a small ride this afternoon. I am holding off on the 33 mile ride until I get my shorts. SHould be Monday, hopefully!!!! Go for my second fill on Monday, so hopefully I will have some restriction again and won't be eating the whole house at times!!

d. where did you order your new shorts from????

That totally stinks about the car.....I hate it when people do cruel things, and when they are done to our kids it hurts even more......I think I would have to be the one getting bailed out of jail...well....no proably not...I am kinda a sissy and dont like to fight..LOL

Well....update from here. I went to bed at 8pm last night, got up this morning and got a shower...he is still in bed hasnt said a word, and if he does not get up soon, I am taking off on my own...just will have to walk up the gravel road until I get to the main road...but what the heck....

I took everyone's advice and didnt bring it up or mention anything, although he knows something was wrong becuase when he called me at work I was crying...I HATE WHEN I DO THAT!!!!!

He asked me last night what was wrong and I just told him to drop it, becuase he would not understand....

I feel like it was best.

J......a 1 x.....wow!!!!!!! Isnt that awesome????? I think it is cool you can buy stuff at NORMAL stores and feel so damn good about it.

JC...so how long have you been seperated? Have you been on dates since?

B....and JC...my 22 year old co-worked who is a real good friend of mine has the Iphone and it is pretty awesome. I have been able to use it at work and I like it...but I have verizon...and dont have $600..if I did I would be getting a road bike...LOL

Well everyone....have a good day

D, sorry to hear about your son's car. It's too bad we all live so far apart or else I believe we could round up a BadAss Posse!

HP, we have been separated for about a year and a half. Our divorce should be final early October. I guess I can look at it as an early birthday present. I hope you get a good ride in today.

I still have John with me we are going to work around the house. I hope to ride this evening. I gotta get in shape for the trip.

You early adopters of technology are fantastic. I on the other hand don't even text message....I figure I'm talking (mostly) on-line classes, that's high tech enough. This finance class I'm taking right now is my only in the class room class I'll have in the last three year of college career. I took some math classes in the class room a few years ago.

Thanks for the props on the 1X. I think calling me Onederwoman is a bit premature. I'm a solid 30 pounds away from there. Hopefully by Thanksgiving. And that's pretty quick!

B- Broccoli was fine until I got this fill. And I'll be damned to give it up entirely. I eat it about 4 times a week and my daughter loves it. So when I got back to my dinner I ate it in tic tack sized pieces. It was slow going but it didn't get stuck and I got the nutrition.

I am new here today... and only two weeks out from my sleeve surgery on the 23rd. I am amazed I have kept my calories down to 467 today so far... that leaves me almost 750 left for dinner and maybe a snack. This is going to be tough for two weeks... but I have to believe I can do it!

Hey everyone. I'm new here so I thought I should introduce myself. I am 53y/o and am scheduled for Gastric Bypass on June 25th, 2025. I'm located in San Antonio, Texas. I will be having my surgery in Tiajuana Mexico. I've wanted this for years, but I always had insurance where bariatric procedures were excluded. Finally I am able to afford to pay out of pocket.  I can't wait to get started, and I hope I'm prepared for the initial period of "hell". I know what I have signed up for, but I'm sure the good to come will out way the temporary period of discomfort and feelings of regret. I'd love to find people to talk to who have been through the same procedure or experience before. So I look forward to meeting you all. Hope you have a great week!

I'm so happy for you! You are about to change your life. I was so glad to get the sleeve done in Dec. I didn't have feelings of regret overall. And I'm down almost 60 lbs. I do feel a little sad at restaurants. I can barely eat half a kid's meal. I get adults meals often because kid ones don't have the same offerings at times. Then I feel obligated to eat on that until it's gone and that can be days. So the restaurant thing isn't great for me. All the rest is fine by me! I love feeling full with very little. I do wish I could drink when eating. And will sip at the end. Just a strong habit to stop. But I'm working on it! You will do fine! Just keep focused on your desire to be different. Not better or worse. But different. I am happy both ways but my low back doesn't like me that heavy. So I listened (also my feet!). LOL! Update us on your journey! I'm not far from you. I'm in Houston. Good luck and I hope it all goes smoothly! Would love to see pics of the town you go to for this. I've never been there. Neat you will be traveling for this! Enjoy the journey. Take it one day at a time. Sometimes a few hours at a time. Follow all recommendations as best you can. 💗

Thank you so much for your well wishes. I am hoping that everything goes easy for me as well. We don't eat out much as it is, so it wont be too bad in that department. Thankfully. Also, I hear you regarding your back and feet!! I'd like to add knees to the list. Killing me as we speak! I'm only 5' so the weight has to go. Too short to carry all this weight. Menopause really did a doosey on me. (😶lol) My daughter also lives in Houston. with her Husband and my 5 grand-littles. I grew up in Beaumont, so I know Houston well, I will be sure to keep in touch and update you on my journey. I may need some advice in the future, or just motivation. Thank You so much for reaching out, I was hoping to connect with someone in the community. I really appreciate it. 💜

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

I hope your surgery on Wednesday goes well. You will be able to do all sorts of new things as you find your new normal after surgery. I don't know this from experience yet, but I am seeing a lot of positive things from people who have had it done. Best of luck!

Life as a big person had limited my life to what I knew I could manage to do each day. That was eat. I hadn't anything else to look forward to. So my eating choices were the best I could dream up. I planned the cooking in managable lots in my head and filled my day with and around it.

Now I have a whole new big, bigger, biggest, best days ever. I am out there with those skinny people doing stuff i could never have dreamt of. Food is now an after thought. It doesn't consume my day. I still enjoy the good home cooked food but I eat smaller portions. I leave food on my plate when I am full. I can no longer hear my mother's voice saying eat it all up, ther are starving children in Africa who would want that!

I still cook for family feasts, I love cooking. I still do holidays but I have changed from the All inclusive drinking and eating everything everyday kind to Self catering accommodation. This gives me the choice of cooking or eating out as I choose. I rarely drink anymore as I usually travel alone now and I feel I need to keep aware of my surroundings.

I don't know at what point my life expanded, was it when I lost 100 pounds? Was it when I left my walking stick at home ? Was it when I said yes to an outing instead of finding an excuse to stay home ? i look back at my last five years and wonder how loosing weight has made such a difference. Be ready to amaze yourself.

BTW, the liquid diet sucks, one more day and you are over the worst. You can do it.
