I think you will be fine. I had to cook 6 days post op for my daughter's birthday and it was fine. Just pace yourself and start early enough to give you enough time.

Nine days postop I was still very weak and unable to do much. Hopefully, I am dead wrong and your recovery will be quick!

However, I am posting this just to suggest that you be prepared for a backup just in case.

Happy holidays and wishing you a speedy recovery.

I agree with Kathy812. I'm 3 weeks out and I think I recovered pretty well, but 8 days out I was in no condition to host and cook a large dinner party. Lifting things and bending were the biggest issues. If there are things you can prep prior to surgery definitely do that and enlist help. You just had surgery, this is the time to be pampered a little!! ;)

Best of luck!!

Hello, I'm so happy I found this web page. I need all the support you all have.

This Monday Dec.15, 2014 will be 7 days that I had Gastric Bypass.

I'm 66years old and I've waited over 10 years to Get this surgery. I'm so pleased to find you all.

My email is JudyPinkey@aol.com

When I first read this I was 3 days post op and was like heck noooo! But now I am 10 days post op and have been back to work all week. I'm sure I would be tired, but I could do a Christmas dinner.
