What was yours like?

I just left mine and I'm really thinking about seeing someone else. I feel like he was over thinking it. And wth do I need to go back for???

Mine was with a psychologist that was part of the bariatric program. It was a pleasant 45 minute session and that was it. This is supposed to be an evaluation only, not an ongoing set of appointments. If the clinician wants to see you again then ask why. Good luck!

Yep mine was a 1+ hr appointment 20 min talk, 1 hr paper "test" blah blah blah! I guess I hid my crazy quite well because I was approved! I was going to be worried for you until you said your friend had to go twice...odd, it's probably all about the money!

That's exactly what I thought. It's about money. But he said he had questions for my insurance company. If he calls them they might tell him he has to write it up from today's appointment because they won't pay for another one.

Next question" what does your family think about your drug use" me...ummm I don't use drugs!" Why did you start abusing drugs"...me Ok we are done here A-hole! How can I answer A 25 question test on the drug abuse I DONT DO?! I wrote that on the paper and gave it back to them...ignorant...and it made me want To take a sedative! lol!

. I'm not sure. He said he was gonna call before I came in and didn't. So if I don't hear from him tomorrow like he said then I'll be blowing up his office and cell phones. I would really hate for this to hold me up.

See it's all for money! I have defiantly met some people who had the surgery and were like, seriously? Your crazy a** passed the psych eval?! Ok I'm good! ; )- And I'm not even really crazy,.....it's documented! Ha! It is fun to throw that up at the husband every once in awhile! Best part of the whole hoopla!

I'm bipolar and I had to see a therapist for months before she would sign a recommendation for surgery. They wanted to be sure I was stable and compliant with my meds. Not a bariatric therapist, I regular one.

Just had my psych eval, and I feel as if it was too quick, and too easy. I was out in under 10 minutes. The Dr. did say when I walked in that it would be quick, unless he felt I had some issues I had to work out first, but I didn't think it was going to be that fast either. I'm sitting here, now, wondering if maybe I answered something the wrong way and that's why he dismissed me so quickly. =/

I was there a little over an hour and he wants to see me again for some test. I feel like it should have all been done today but that would have been too easy.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
