Heading back to ER again, prayers please

Recommended Posts

Thanks all. Possibilities were discussed in past of converting but they would need 12 weeks from original surgery who h I am now approaching other possibility was feeding tube port thru stomach but that's for long term and no solving anything. I can't go through this again. It's been just over a week since tube was pulled, seems like the lack of nutrition without aide of tube which bypassed stomach is catching up with me. Seems like anything that hits my stomach it doesn't like and makes nausea worse. I've been trying to force stuff down and still not working. Only made 400 calories, 37g Protein and like 30oz Water yesterday. My wife doesn't want me to wait a couple days to contact doctor's but not sure what else they can do but to readmit me or replace ng tube at this point. I have all same symptoms I had at start of my spiral which was around beginning of week 3 post op. Depression is coming g back as I can't do this again

@@nprcowboy - Please don't give up. What you had yesterday was probably the amount I was able to take in during my first few days post op and in many ways you body is at that level. Still call the doctor, but try to at least meet that level and don't push as hard. Since Protein drinks count towards Fluid that's 67 ounces of Fluid yesterday so you aren't at risk of dehydration. Anxiety will only make things worse.

You remain in my thoughts.

I am not on Protein Shakes at all so Water is my only fluids. And the small amount yesterday was from forcing it at risk of throwing up. Will see how next couple of days go but nausea is causing me to not want to eat or drink plus when I do get something down very uncomfortable with pressure in esophagus, same as before even if totally empty prior and have a small sip or bite. Again seems like stomach doesn't want to let stuff in. Total deja vu

@@nprcowboy - Given your history I wouldn't wait a few days. I would call the doctor tomorrow. I would also ask if Protein Shakes even if only as a back up is an option for you. Perhaps a Protein Water like propel.

@@nprcowboy I'm so sorry your going thru this again is there any possibility u went a bit too fast drinking and that's causing the nausea or too big of sips maybe I've seen ppl say here that Water is awful and feels so heavy that they dilute it with juices I hope u turn around soon and start to feel better will keep u in thoughts and prayers

Hi. My name is Al and live in the Tampa area. After 4 hours in ER last night and told would be another 3 to 4 hours so we left as I'd be there all night waiting for surgeon. Plan to go tomorrow AM. Today's my wife's birthday so don't want to ruin. I was crying like a baby yesterday when my wife wouldn't let me wait a few more days of getting g sicker to go into ER because I'm not ready to get rid of my freedom yet. I've enjoyed being home, tube free etc. So not ready for this again. Love to you all.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
