I'm a year out and I can only eat about 6 ounces of soft food (or half cup) or four ounces (about a third of a cup max) of more solid Protein before I get full. The only exception is soft dairy like yogurt or cottage cheese, of which I can eat up to 8 ounces at a time.

For additional perspective I can eat about:

half a sandwich of any variety if the bread is thin

one slice of pizza

one small chicken breast

three egg whites with half an english muffin

half a large Tomato

two hard boiled eggs

Hope this helps! :)

At the 6 month mark, I was up to 1/2 cup size bowl I ate out of. In the following months, I gradually began to eat larger portions. At 1 year, I was up to 1 cup and now at 2 years, I can eat between 1 and 1 1/2 cups depending on the amount of Protein in the meal. For example, 4.5 to 6 oz of pork loin is a meal (it's fairly tough and dry meat - beef hamburger is even more filling). However, I can eat 1 large apple and 1 big banana or 2 bananas for a meal or I can eat 3 large yellow squash (probably 10 - 14 oz) for a meal.

I can eat a frozen meal sized meal. So 6 oz, before I get full. I can get in about 5 oz of chicken and feel full on that. I'm just shy of 7 months.

My meals are usually in the range of 4-5 ounces and I am quite full on that. So about 2.5-3 oz. Protein and an ounce or two of green veggies.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
