Anyone NOT lose weight prior to surgery? What happens if you don't?

@@laurenella82 I didn't because I wasn't required to, in fact I put on 8lbs during the 3 months . I did lose on my 2 week pre-op diet but that was inevitable. I think it depends on your insurance and what your surgeon request for you to do.

I'm on Day 4 of the pre-op diet and it is awful! Lol

To think I have 10 days left makes me sad.

Granted , I've lost 7 lbs since Tuesday ( today is Friday ) it is still very hard.

@@Elode, they didn't say I needed to either which I thought was strange. I did lose a pound at my last visit. Maybe I will have lost another when I go back on the 4th....but then again I'll be out of town all next week eating and drinking smh #fingerscrossed

I have my 2nd nutrition appointment on Dec. 3rd. every day I get even more excited! I don't have a survey date yet, but I do know that it'll be some time in early Febuary 2015. What month will you be having the surgery?

I'm praying I get a date in January. My last appointment is Dec 4th. And by the 12th my stuff should be sent out for insurance approval. I was told it takes 2 weeks max to get a decision and I'm gonna be bugging the insurance company after about 3 days lol

Being on this 1200 calorie pre op diet makes me realize how many calories I must have been taking in

My surgeon said she has stopped surgery twice before because the liver was too big. I did my pre op but only lost 4lbs. They wanted 10. But when she went in there I guess i was great. Id just be real strict right before so your liver shrinks. Its a safety issue for the surgeon, not usually a compliance test

I have asked my surgeon how many incisions I'd have. He said 4-5, if the liver hasn't shrunk enough he'd have To do 5, but if it was nice and shrunk and didn't have to move it only 4

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
