New to the group, surgery is December 1.

Recommended Posts

Hi all. I am all set and ready for gastric bypass surgery on December 1. I have lost 8 pounds on the first 5 days of the

2 week pre op diet. My diet is mostly high Protein, vegetables and fruit. Not to bad. I WILL struggle on Thanksgiving day

and I already told my doctor that I WILL be eating stuffing on that day. I am nervous, anxious, excited about the surgery and

it is approaching fast. Current as of this morning is 291, 44 Jeans. Goal is 175 and jean size ???? 34? I am very active and

getting this extra 100 pounds off will be life altering. I look forward to following this group forum. John

Welcome and congrats! I am a week post op and the pre op diet was the worst. I think because you can still physically eat what you want and you know you may not get to eat some of that ever again. My advice is do the best you can and when you do cheat (stuffing!) Make it a very small amount just for the taste. After surgery you will have no more worries. Good luck

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
