December Sleevers?

Recommended Posts

I had my surgery on Dec 3rd. So today is day 2 post op. Having mixed feelings to be honest. Spent all day reading and watching clips to calm my self down. :)

What happened?!? How are u doing now? I understand it's normal to have a moment of - oh god what did I do ... But I've heard it passes.

My surgery is tomorrow. Hope you are feeling better now

Hey y'all! I would love it if us December sleevers could support each other. I had surgery on 12/2. Was so so much harder than I thought, but after the first few days I was fine. I also had a very large hiatel hernia repaired so I'm thinking that had to do with the pain and nausea. Also, I chuckled to myself reading this post as I guess I'm not the only one hiding the sleeve part from my family! The only one who knows I had the sleeve is my boyfriend. Everyone else just thinks it was the hernia. Easier this way I think. How's everyone doing in their pre op/ post op stages?

I am one week out! and drumroll.......get to have pureed food!!!! LOL

I am feeling great and returned to work today. Y'all it is so much easier to get my fluids in here! I already got down 48 ozs and I am on my second Protein shake so all my Protein is in too! I just sip sip sip where at home I was watching a clock and TV which seems like torture. I have a great staff that missed me and noticed I am not quite as energetic but still here and doing my job. So many notice a difference in my face so that is very MOTIVATING!!!! How is everyone else?

@@meagtheleo you're back to work after only one week? wow! that's fantastic! my doctor suggests a full liquid diet from day 4-14 so I won't be able to enjoy anything pureed until New Years, haha. My surgery is scheduled for 12/17.

I'm Dec 17th on 2 week liquid diet and I'm missing food !

I am December 17th too! Started my pre-op diet last Thursday. I have not been hungry at all but for some reason today I am a little bit. Gonna go home and put on my bathing suit and hit a Water aerobics class. Keep my mind off of it. Maybe I'll have some sugar free Jello before I go.

I hope i can get up and go in five days because that is all i have to get up and kick it. I am so proud of everyone, and keep the stories coming, they comfort me so much.

I just had mine yesterday at 9:30am , I am doing ok but just can't seem to drink those Protein shakes.

I had my surgery dec 9 and can not even imagine getting a shake down right now. I can barely get Water and crystal light down without my stomach rebelling a bit.

I'm not exactly regretting the surgery but def hoping this gets better soon. I'm supposed to be in yogurt, Soups and Protein drinks starting fri and I just don't see that happening

Ok. I know they say not to look at the scale. But I'm getting a bit discouraged. I've been on the full liquid diet since Friday. I haven't been getting in a full 64 ounces of liquid but I have been getting in almost 50. I am about the same with the protein. My weight is higher now then the day of surgery. I keep reading stories about people who were down 5 pounds, even 10 pounds even in the first week. I don't know what I'm doing wrong do I need to be walking more? what has everyone's first week results been?

Hi all I had my surgery on Monday December 15 and I just got back to my home to recover in the comfort of my own home. It's been a year long journey to get here but I finally did it. I'm in San Antonio, TX. Anyone from around here.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
