Well, I'm on day 3 of my 2 week pre-op liquid diet and I can honestly say that finally today, I don't want to pull someones head off or gnaw on my own arm to survive ;) Seriously though, I'm doing fairly well and not starving. I think I'm starting to adjust and making good progress. How is everyone else doing?

I'm just dayone...but I was doing 2-3 days a week for about a month now. I'll be glad to get to day FOUR. Then I will know I will be OK...Also doing half caffiene and then using surgery as the breaking point to no caffiene. Keep up the good work!

I gave up caffeine when I first started my 3-month supervised diet so that I wouldn't have to deal with the headaches late in the game. Thankful that I did that !!! Good luck and can't wait to hear how things are going :)

That's awesome! Such inspiration! I do not have a surgery date yet, so I have not started anything. I'm still deciding where to go.

Keep up the good work!

Good luck on your decision :) It was the hardest and best decision of my life and I'm so excited about it.

I'm also on day 3. Luckily, my Dr only required me to do 1 week liquid vs the 2 weeks that most of his other patients have had to do. I'm having the opposite reaction than you are. Days 1 and 2 were great for me. Today, I'm hungrier than I have been the other 2 days. It might be because I'm at home rather than at work, so I'm not constantly busy. Other than that, I'm honestly surprised at how full I have been feeling.

I'm on day 4 of 14 and I have to say that I have been pleasantly surprised that it really is not bothering me. I was shocked when I hopped on the scale this morning, I am down 9 lbs!

I'm on day 7 I think it took me till day 5 to not get crazy about food. Now I can talk about it and watch it and be ok. I still get the headaches and the "hangry" moments. lol but good luck to us all and pray that we don't cheat tomorrow.

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!
