Leg/ankle swelling six days after surgery

I had my sleeve done Nov 12th. I am sipping slow and I am getting a fair bit of water in. More water than protein/broth/jello/etc. The problem I seem to be having is swelling in my legs and ankles - almost like water retention? I did come home from surgery already coming off insulin!! And because of a few issues the discharge said not to take BP meds until I see my primary care physician (which I see today). My BP has been elevated - would this account for the swelling? ALSO, how long does one wear this belly band? Could that be acting like a rubber band in my middle causing water retention, or should I be concerned about this issue?

I would talk to the doc, swelling in the legs can be a blood clot. I am sure it isn't, but better safe than sorry. I got one after ankle surgery, it really frightend me. I panic anytime I have calf pain.

Call your dr about any leg swelling!

Did your BP pills contain a diuretic? If so, that may be the source of the problem. I'm sure you've notified your doctor about this issue, I just wanted to give some feedback. Hope this issue resolves soon.
