    Isopure Disgusting!

Try mixing it 50/50 with crystal light, or something similar. It really helps.
  2. Were you given a heparin injection during surgery? That could cause excess bleeding.

    I usted To love eating

I am 3 months post op, and my relationship with food has changed. I just don't care about it anymore. I eat small amounts of what I want, and leave it at that. I aim for high protein, and lots of liquids. If I feel especially needy, I will have a little popcorn, it makes me feel like I had a treat. We have to learn how to look at food in more of an eat to live way, and less of a live to eat.

    Can't do anymore protein!

Try Isopure, and mix it with something. I have used Crystal Light, G2, and Iced Tea. I cut it in half, so 1/2 a bottle, or 10oz of Isopure, with 10oz mixer. 20g of protein, and 20oz fluids!! I sip it all day, adding ice as I go. I have only tried Grape Frost, and Iced Tea Lemon.
  5. At about 3 weeks, your large incision can begin to be super painful for a week or so. There is a stitch, deep in the muscle there that is healing. Almost everyone has it, and the severity of the pain, seems to depend on your activity level.

    Feelings too weak to exercise

I was told to limit exercise until I was getting all my fluids, and protein in. I was also told to stop when I felt tired.

    Isopure drinks

If you can find one you like, I suggest buying them by the case from Vitamin Shoppe. Most days I drink half a bottle, mixed with 10oz of whatever makes it taste better it's an excellent way to get 20g of protein, and 20 oz of fluids!

    Isopure drinks

I have tried Grape, and Iced Tea Lemon. Both need to be diluted, or mixed with something. It is a great source of protein, and fluids.
  9. I would like to do activities, and events. Get to know each other, and have some fun!!
  10. I told my parents, my kids, my closest friends, and my aunt. If people want to ask what I am doing to lose weight, I will tell them portion control, and exercise. That is the truth, and my psych actually suggested it. The truth is, like diet, and exercise, the sleeve is only a tool. This is one of the hardest things I have done. I am 6 weeks out, and food is an issue. Getting all my fluids in is an issue. Nausea, and puking after eating can be an issue. This is not for the faint of heart. Dealing with judgement, or negativity is not something I feel like doing. I have not regretted my decision for a second.

    How to take pills

Are they large pills? I was able to swallow pills right away.
  12. So happy to hear you are doing so well. Dehydration can cause nausea, try to push those fluids! I just had to go in for iv fluids after a week of nausea, turns out I was dehydrated. Keep up the good feels!!

    More on Crazy Penny

Penny has serious control issues. Her husband is an enabler, with zero backbone, who can't work because he has to care for her. She needs some serious tough love, or her poor child will be burying her at a very young age.

I was told for the first few days to avoid bevs that were too hot, or too cold, as they can cause cramping.

    Any Washington State Sleevers?

Susie..don't stress! It was such an easy procedure, less than 45 min! They will keep you comfortable after. Yes, there is some discomfort, take your painmeds as prescribed for the 1st 4 days. Sip, sip, sip. Have some clear chicken broth, sugar free jello, and pudding made. Sugar free popsicles are good. try not to over do activity. Rest as much as you can the first few days. If you need someone to chat with, let me know!

    Any Washington State Sleevers?

I had the same kind of experience at pssc, my hubs was kept in the loop the whole time. The night nurse let my parents, brothers, sister in law, and son in, way after visiting hours. I never waited for pain meds, they were all given on time, or for help to get up, to potty, or walk. I slept a lot of the time, but I was being given Dilaudid, Valium, Torodol, and something for nausea. I was very comfortable, yet still able to cruise the halls every 3-4 hours. It's so important we are comfy, and feel safe! They don't overbook, there were 2 night nurses, and 2 patients. I had to call early in the morning on a sunday, and the on call doc returned my call immediately. I feel like they are very on top of everything.

    Any Washington State Sleevers?

I haven't experienced any rude behavior at PSSC. I started going there in October 2013. I also have 2 good friends that were sleeved there.

    Any Washington State Sleevers?

I also had mine done at PSSC. The care I received was above and beyond my expectations. The anesthesiologist was the most compassionate, gentle, kind man. He actually took my face in his hands, and talked me to sleep..told me to imagine a beach, it was just amazing. My nurses were phenominal, I actually brought them gifts at my 1 week post op. My surgeon was Dr. Landerholm, I love him. He treats you like a person, not a child. I have had zero complications, I was kept comfortable, I was able to meet my protein goals right away. Fluids are occasionally a struggle, and when you start introducing more solid foods, it's challenging.

    Any Washington State Sleevers?

Susie, I am in Snohomish also! I was sleeved Feb 18.
  21. Dr. Landerholm, Puget Sound Surgical Center, in Edmonds. The entire staff is amazing, I never feel like a bother, they were thorough, knowledgable, made sure I was comfy. They have amazing support. I have had zero complications.
  22. You only have to separate your multi and calcium by 2 hours if your multi has iron. Always take them after, or during a meal. Vitamins can make you sick when taken on an empty stomach, even if you haven't been sleeved.

    10-15 vitamins a day?

I separate my calcium and multi by 2 hours I take my omep, calcium, and B12, have a protein drink. Then 2 hours later, I make a little food, because I have to have something solid when I take my multi, or I get very sick, even with food I get nauseated after multis. I always have, even pre-sleeve.
  24. We aren't supposed to graze, instead, 5-6 mini meals, never going more than 3-4 hours without eating. Keeps your blood sugars level.
