Knives in my stomach!

I one week out and everythiby I drink feels like a dagger my stomach. One sip of luke warm water equals excruciating pain. All I am having is water and protein shakes. I'm eating tums like they're candy and I take nexium twice a day. Is this normal and how long till it goes away?

yes, call your doc!

I had horrible pain and it was reflux. It's best to let the professionals get you sorted :-)

Hi.

That knife pain, tell me, is your tongue White in color and looks like a yeasty paste? if so, you have Thrush.

I had this so bad that when I swallowed, It felt like knives going down my throat and into my stomach.

I was on two different types of antibiotics to clear this. I was also out of work for 2 weeks due to this pain.

Hope this helps.

Annamarie

That's doesn't sound normal. Yes you should call your surgeon. Also if you don't already have one ask for a prescription for a PPI.

I was told for the first few days to avoid bevs that were too hot, or too cold, as they can cause cramping.

I am 1 week and 1 day post op and I too have a sharp, the your breath away pain. It only lasts for a few seconds but happens often. I just assumed it was spasms from having hiatal hernia repair.

My pain was terrible. Subsided greatly at two weeks. Try to rest and hang in there.
