  1. Hi All! Had my surgery on Monday, 3/2. I know there were quite a few people in the pre-surgery area for March, so I figured I would start a thread for us in the post section. Day 1 was tough - they really drugged me at the hospital. I'm super sensitive to medications, so when I woke up, I was completely disoriented and hysterical. They gave me more meds to call me down. I could barely keep my head up and eyes open the entire day. Around 3pm (surgery was at 8am), I was able to realize where I was and get my Water in and walk around. Keep my pain meds up as I wanted to stay ahead of the pain. Day 2 I was still groggy and out of it, but more alert than day 1. Wasn't able to get as much water in with the small cups but using the restroom regularly, so I think all was well. Cut back on the medicine mid day - wasn't a good idea. Took the full dose to get to sleep. Day 3 (today) feeling much better. Folded clothes, took the dog on several short walks and have been off the pain meds all day. Feeling fine! The recovery hasn't been as bad as I thought it would be. Been doing my best to take my Vitamins and such and getting my water in. Also gonna hit the shower now that I'm feeling more with it. How have you guys been that have sleeved this week?

This is normal. You should feel better in a few days.
  8. I'm on soft foods now for the next two months I think. eggs, cottage cheese, canned fish, ect. I can eat half an egg, half an ounce of crab meat, ect. What do you guys do with the left over food? I haven't cooked many large meals since surgery that I could eat, but how do you adjust to cooking this small or adjusting food quantities for the family? I feel really wasteful, but I don't want to force others to eat my leftovers. My GF has already told me that she will not be my chubby chaser victim. My daughter is 6 and already eats like a bird - generally I'm scared she's gonna starve to death but she has a great relationship with food. In short, stuffing the family is out. I'm not big on leftovers. Composting??

Thank you! Yes, I am not a garbage disposal. I need to remember that.

    Belly button pain and swelling

Is this behind an incision? If so, it's a stitch and will dissolve in time.

  15. Dr. Nick is amazing! You will do great!!
  16. Thanks OP for posting. This is helpful. I think like others have said, it depends on the strain. I've never had the munchies with it - usually it just helps me fall asleep. So great for pain and relaxation.

    No appetite

I'm only three weeks out but not physically hungry as well. I have symptoms of hunger (growling and painful belly, headache, irritable, ect.) but never actually feel hunger like i did in the past. i'm not sure if that will change, but i think it's normal.
