Lucky # Sevens- July 07 Bandsters

Recommended Posts

Marcy, You are too much, lol! You crack me up! I am sooo glad you were able to lose, but there is no way I would be able to eat the chicken after I harvested it!!! I have trouble with fish, because when I was younger I spent an entire day cleaning blue gills for my dad and 3 brothers!!! Venison is another one, ate it when I was young, but now, can't do it ... get awful images of my dad and brothers butchering them!!! I wish I wasn't that way, but if I think about any animal, I won't be able to eat the meat!!! Even milk can turn my stomach! I eat meat, but I could sooooo easily become a vegetarian, lol!!!

Hey everybody!!! LTNS

I have been so busy since I started back to work. A quick update: Since I had my surgery I have really concentrated on eating things good for me and drinking plenty of fluids. Problem is, I started getting REALLY hungry about a week ago and although I am eating "right", I just can't seem to get enough and have actually gained 3 lbs back. I have till Sept 12th before my first fill. OMG, what am I gonna do? Is this what everyone calls Bandster Hell?

Sorry for dumping but this is so depressing....I am terrified that I will just gain everything back that I have already lost...just like old times :think

Lynette, You said Hunter is 3, right? Don't stress over him not being able to "write." Let him use crayons and help him hold them correctly, let him cut "random" pieces of paper, and start introducing him to colors, shapes, numbers, and letters. Say his ABC's, count to 5, let him sort socks and find the "matches." Writing will come with time. He has to understand what "letter" is, before writing will make any sense to him. I start the year out with 4 year olds and I know there will only be 6 or so that will be able to write their names. Now, by November they all will be writing some "semblance" of a name, but honestly, at 3, everything is just an introduction. Don't stress it!!! Enjoy your "little" boy and just make every learning adventure a fun game or treasure hunt! Like let's ... go on an adventure hunt and look for Circles today!!! Really doesn't have to be much more than that right now! Just my take on it all! It will come with time and maturity. He shouldn't be expected to "know" all those things yet! He is just now getting to the point where he will want to do those things.

Jeanie, I need your night time restriction! I feel it great in the morning less in the day, hardly at night - so the last too days I know I have eaten too much.

Weight loss is stalled. It is nice to have had some of you go through this (and come back out the other side!). I realize it is temporary (unless I keep eating like I have been at night!) I have worked out Fri, Mon, Tues, and plan to make it again today. Maybe my muscle coming back is weighing more. Have a great day everyone! CC

Chim

Thanks for the vote of confidence. I really needed it.

Hi Everyone

I hope ur all having a good day so far.

Yesterday's walking record

30 minutes at nite with a friend. I didn't move as fast as I wanted to because the other person was slowing me down. Ain't that something? lol

Bottom line is....I'm not getting in enough hydration and I need to make "Ruby's Water Rules" a way of life so that I don't sabotage my band. (How do u like that phrase I just coined?? lol) If I was properly hydrated during the day, I wouldn't need the small sips of Water after my meals.

Thanks for the compliment! :biggrin1: I'm glad I was able to provide some motivation. I've certainly got plenty of that from here myself. It's nice to be able to return the favour.

My favourite one was the "This is the last summer I'll be fat!" mantra. I still tell myself that every day. Soon it will be "This is the last fall I'll be fat!" :whoo:

Hi Ruby,

That Water really did the trick!! I live in a semi-arid state (Colorado) and allowing myself to get dehydrated took the stuffing out of me.

And you other guys....all the exercise talk got me off my duff and with my newly hydrated body got in 30 min. of brisk walking.

Thanks.

Chim and Laurend- I find that with chrystal light, I just add a small amount to my H2O just to flavor it a tad. If I make it into the 1/2 gal, its much to sweet and certain flavors have a metalic taste. The lemonade is good, and so is Raspberry ice. But I just add a tiny bit to the Water. I like that better than the flavored waters, now those I cannot drink at all.......they taste so fake to me. But I like just plain Water the best.

Hi Lynnette, Jeanie, Ruby, Kathy, Ssanskoffa, Marcy,CC- and if I forgot anyone....Sorry!!

Its funny how Dr's orders differ.

At my Clinic they said that we can drink our Water right up to when we start eating... but once we start the meal NO MORE Water for at least 30 mins. after your last bite of dinner...

It really does take some getting used to...

Did you guys see that Leona Helmsley left 12 million to one of her dogs, and left 2 of her 4 grandchildren out of her will?

only4me, I heard that about the dog, now I wonder who the dog will leave it to when it goes. Some people!!!

So I got my fill today, and already feel the restriction. Just drank my shake and had to drink slow. Felt tight, so maybe the second time around is better!!

Funny thing is, I just wnet laast Monday to the Physocologist, and from Monday until today I've lost 4 lbs. I've ate more in the past week, but lost more. Makes no sense, but I'll take it.

So according to my afternoon weight there, I'm down 22 lbs, but my morning weight at home shows I'm down 25. Either way, I'm not complaining, just wish it would cool off so I can go out and walk without having a heat stroke!! Even the doc said he hadn't been excercising either because of the heat. Made me feel a little better, but still need to get my but in gear.

School started yesterday and I feel like I have been run over by a train...already we've had kids trying to run away, biting the teachers, kicking etc... and they were all pre-K and K. What can I say? I am exhausted.

Anyways, I have managed not to take my stress out on food, instead I played solitarie until I was almost blind. And I sat at a meeting today for I kid you not 2 1/2 hours, with a huge chocolate basket RIGHT in front of me. Quite proud of myself, did not have any.

OK, I will post more later when I feel human again.

Dear BlueEyedBaby;

Welcome to BANDSTER HELL!! Been there, done that & have the Tshirt & Extra lbs... LOL

I feel for you! But don't despair your 1st FILL will clear that problem right up!

I figure, enjoy your food for the next wk or so... don't PIG out or anything... but if you have a favorite..have it now... cause it'll be BYE BYE soon enough.

THe weeks of healing after surg. and before FILL are just for THAT ! Healig... it is not the weightloss time...

I was down 17 lbs. post surg while I was on liquids, then as soon as I started eating Solids my appetite returned - big time.. very hard to control.

So be gentle with yourself, what you are experiencing is text book signs.

Hang in and look forward to your 1st fill.

Your w/l is going very well... you should be proud!!

And wasn't your fill exciting? That first sip is strange for sure...

I'm two days out from my fill and I am eating solids well, albiet not very much... I get FULL easily..

On my Lunchsized plate at dinner time I had 3 oz. chick breast, 1/3 cup cooked carrots, 1`/4 cup brown rice...

COULDN"T Eat it all... so I wrapped it up and I can always nuk it later if I am hungry ... trouble was that I already counted the calories on my SPARKPEOPLE.com site...

I am tracking my nutrients for a wk or so to make sure I am getting enough protien.. don't want to lose my hair!!

Take care

Peaches,

Thank you so much for the moral support. Somewhere in the back of my brain, I knew that. I just had to hear it from someone in order to quit freaking about it. Does that make sense? I will try to relax and enjoy my food for the short amt of time I have left....oh, and try to not gain anymore...geesh

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
