Lucky # Sevens- July 07 Bandsters

About this cruise, do we have to be careful about Hurrican season>?

Yes!!! I have a friend who had to be evacuated from a port in Mexico last year. Major headache and expensive too. As a matter of fact she ended up housing some brits for a while because there were no flights to Europe. Also, summer is very very hot so we might want to go at another time and avoid skin cancer :)

Gimboree adn Lynette- I can't write but can read French, so no dirty little secrets!:omg: Just kidding of course... I do speak, read and write Portuguese and Spanish however, in case anybody wants to practice. I am originally from Brazil...

Cazulay, I would love, love, love to learn Spanish! I work w/a lady who's Portugese.

There are some great cruises that leave from Houston now - might be a good option if we have enough texans. I'm all for it if the date works. To avoid hurricane season you have to go well into October or November.

Congrats to the new bandees.:)

Chimboree, I got the power poin but I can't open it up. Don't know why I'm having problems with it, any ideas what I can try?

Cazulay, I did take it easy the first week, very easy, but the house looks like a tornado went thru, again, so I'm picking up things here and there. I have a 3 year old, so it doesn't stay clean very long, and I hate it looking messy.

So my DH and son are having their cake and eating too right now, right behind me. They say it's good, as my DH just belched in the background, so I told him to go eat a piece for me too. It will be gone by tomorrow, no doubt about it.

Signing off for a few. DH wants to look up a place to hunt this fall.

Tata for now!

I was banded yesterday, July 9th. I feel pretty good except for the burps...even took a shower this morning. Thank you all for all your tips and advice - All I could think about was how helpful those toilet tongs would have been last night!

...

Not sure what's going on. If you have Microsoft PowerPoint, it should've opened right up. Maybe I need to send you another copy of it. It's possible the one you have now may have been corrupted during transmission.

Welcome GeGe! Glad you are doing so well. This is site is great, isn't it? I feel so calm about my surgery and I know a big part of it is b/c I have been able to educate myself...and the awesome support that is available here!

Toilet tongs...I still have to purchase some of those. Hahaha!!!

Well I am up tomorrow and have to say that I am not nervous at all. I think it is because I have read this site so much that I am not afraid or nervous about the unknown. The 2 week pre op diet of Protein Shakes and non starchy veggies was ok. Today I am on Clear Liquids and have to take antiobiotics 3 times today, they are really gross and make me sick to my stomach. I read the warning and it said may upset your stomach, if so take with crackers or a small meal ( like that is an option). I have to be at the hospital at 1:15pm tomorrow so maybe the jitters will kick in tomorrow. I will let eveyone know how it goes. My Dr keeps you at least over night so the soonest I will be back is Thursday.

Estas viviendo en Mexico, estudiando para apreder o solamente le gusta apreder lenguas? BTW, yo no tengo paciencia para poner acentos en las palabras :faint:

Congratulations to everyone who's being banded tomorrow. I know ya'll are excited.

Day 2 of my liquid diet was better than day 1. There were times at work that I felt really hungry, but our breaks came at the right time for me to eat Jello and have a Protein Drink. Tonight it's been hard being at home esp now that my hubby is cooking down stairs, so I'm just staying upstairs.

I think the hardest part is going to the bathroom all the time. I'm about ready to pull my desk into the bathroom at work just to save the commute time. It felt like every 15 minutes I was running to the bathroom. lol

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
