Welcom Rebeccah411, that is amazing that you and your mother and sister are all getting done at the same time, you'll be able to help one another so much.

Ronik i get you now sorry i didn't read your post properly :D

Lynette i'm well looking forward to you and everyone else joining me and Breadlady on 'LOSER ROW'.

A little bit of advice, try not to get up quickly, that was my problem and it still is. even if your lying down a few days after the opp and you think your fine, slowly sit up. i just got up a bt quicker than normal and i felt very dizzy as if about to faint

also please please please drink your liquids and your Protein shakes. it helps you recover quicker and give you the energy. sorry if you think that this advice is obvious but i didn't follow it as i should and as yo all well know i've had a tough time

Hey Dini, I have a couple of questions for you.

When you came around after the surgery, did you feel like you'd been hit by a truck or anything? How long was it before you felt up to getting around; even if it was just to sit and watch TV or something? When did you start an exercise regime, what was it, and how did the first one go?

I know everyone recovers at different rates, but it would be great to hear how you got on.

Good luck lynnette. We will all be thinking of you. Hope to hear from you VERY soon!!! We want details!!! Take care and good idea to have everything done before going. I am the same way. I am a list person and I like everything totally tidy at all times and if I am gong away I will clean thoroughly before leaving so when I come home it is all done and I can be relaxed. Otherwise I would constantly be thinking of what needs to be done.

hey Frustrated

when i 1st came around, i was freezing. the cold was so bad. then after the put the heater under me i warmed up and i noticed i couldn't breath.the little bit of breathing i was doing was very painful.

i got opp on at 8am and i think at around 12 they were going to get me to walk but i was far to dizzy. at around 1.30 i tried again and no luck still very dizzy then at around 3 i was taken to the toilet to change myself. (i had my period) they left me for a second and i callosped. after that i didn't get up again till around 6.

i was very weak! i had to sleep on a chair cos of my breating and i was also on oxygen all niight.

after i came home from hospital i walked lots and then today and yesterday i went to town and was walking for hours and i over did it.

also my wind has been fine up till last night and today its been quite sore.

there were 6 of us getting banded and i was the ONLY one who suffered.

anything else? please do ask

:omg:Oh my gosh! Can you believe it? It's here, it's here! Now instead of talking about MONTHS for a wait...we're all talking about DAYS and HOURS! I'm VERY excited today....but that could be the drugs! (Since having a 12 1/2 lb. baby I have been *blessed* with sciatca...a literal pain in the butt! having a bad day with it, but with drugs, I'm happier!)

Good luck Lynette, BeefyIrish & bfyneNtyme ! Keep us posted on your surgery survival!

:clap2::whoo::clap2::whoo::clap2::whoo::clap2::whoo:

It takes quite some time to review all the posts, and I do this at least once a day! I'm worried about when I leave home to start my traveling journey to the surgeon! I won't be on-line that often! Haha! I guess we'll just see what happens.

I just finished a little concoction I made up for supper. I have been on this Protein liquid diet for 2 1/2 weeks now and I am looking for something different. Anyway I got a Slimfast Capicino Delight Optima drink, added 1 scoop of chocolate Protein powder, and 5 ice cubes. I put it in my new Magic Bullitt for 5 or 6 seconds and presto chango. I had a really yummy drink. I have been having trouble getting in enough Protein, so I thought I would try adding the powder to the Slimfast. This one worked pretty good. I have a strawberry Slimfast and I have a Raseberry Protein Powder and I think I will try mixing those two together next. Just a suggestion for something different.

Have a great week everyone! And hugs and prayers to all of you who are getting banded this week.

Thank you Patti C., jackie506, Marcy, and Dini.

Welcome Rebeccah411. You'll have plenty of time to catch up. You've found a great group of supporters for your journey.

I'm ready to go, except for last pre op pictures I need my DH to take ( he thinks he's taking them of me in my 'birthday suit',:) but no way)and my measurements.

My bag is packed, ready to walk out the door.:whoo: I've already got some clear broth ready for when I get home, waterbottles, and frozen slimfast ready.

bfyneNtyme and BeefyIrish, Best of Luck to both of you who will share my Bandbirthday with me tomorrow.:clap2: Hope you recovery quickly and get back soon.

So my mom is going to the hospital with my Dh and I.:straight I guess she's going to try and be supportive. She's keeping my 3 year old until Wednesday for me, which is a big help. I ended up getting her a thank you card, and while I was at it I picked up one for my DH and Dr. I thought it would be nice to thank them ahead of time for everything they've done.

I know I won't sleep a bit:notagree, but I'm going to try. I'll probably be on here through out the night. I have to get up about 5:30:paranoid and shower and then wait 1 hour to rub these towelettes on me:speechles. Does anyone else have to do this:confused:? Something about them having an antibacterial effect for up to 6 hours after applying that helps cut back on germs and such when they do surgey. Never heard of it, but I have to do this 1 hour after showering, and then dress to leave for the hospital. We'll see. My Dh has to help as I can't reach my back.

Ta Ta for now, but I'll probably be around for a while tonight.

Patti Before today, yes I did freeze the can for about 2 hours. I cut off the top of the can with a can opener and ate it like a slush. It's very yummy froze. Now, I open a can, measure out 4 ozs, mix in a scoop of powder, and blend in my magic bullet. Pour it into small containers and freeze. I have 8 of them waiting on me when I get home from the hospital.Very good on hot days. My favorite is the Cappuccino Delight. I love coffee, but only when I mix a bunch of Creamer and sugar into it. This satisfies my coffee cravings, with a lot less calories.

Hey gang...sorry I've been MIA, but remember my laptop caught on fire. I went to hook my desktop up (which I NEVER use...what a shame b/c it's basically brand new.) and I couldn't find the stupid power cord!! I moved into a new condo and left some of the stuff down my mom & dad's...including the power cord...I'm on their computer right now. Once I get home, I'll hook it up and be back in business. ANYHOW...wow I am blabbing on.

I feel like I haven't talked to ya'll FOREVER!!!! WELCOME to all the newbies. I'm sorry I can't personally welcome each of you right now. I will once I get home.

LYNETTE, BEEFYIRISH, and BFYNENTYME, the big day is tomorrow!!! You have got to be sooooo excited. If not, I am for you. LOL! I am praying for each of you and I know all will go well. Bfynentyme, loved the prayer! I can't wait to hear your updates.

I have my follow-up appt w/the Pulmonologist tomorrow. I will find out if I have to do a sleep study or not. I pray not. But anyhow, whatever will be, will be.

Ok gang. Gotta get off here and head home. Later gators!

Thanks Lynette, I think I will be trying this tomorrow. It makes everything a little easier just to try something different. It sounds like you are well prepared for tomorrow and the days ahead. Will you have to spend the night at the hospital or will you be coming home tomorrow?

Patti, My Dr. says he keeps all his Band and Rny patients overnight. But he did say if I was feeling great when he makes his rounds at 5 or 6 pm then he may let me go home. So it's a maybe for tomorrow night, but definitely by Tuesday evening I'll be at home.

Thanks chimboree for the prayers. Hope you get your lap top working again. Everyone has been waiting for an updated calendar from you.

Thanks again for doing that for us. It turnes out great when you print it. I've been adding new people on my old calendar, but I know I forgot someone, just don't know who yet.

Patti, I just saw your post about the slimfast drinks you make. We must be on the same page, both like the cappuccino flavor. It is good isn't it. Don't you love the magic bullet. I just opened mine yesterday and used it for the first time with the slimfast. It's great, and cleans up fast.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
