Lucky # Sevens- July 07 Bandsters

Recommended Posts

We have a special needs son, Jesse, who is hearing impaired, intellectually challenged, has epilepsy, ADHD and OCD (to name a few things). Beyond his labels... he is our pride and joy.

I am a Special Ed. teacher so I sort of know what you go thru every day, I am glad you are taking care of yourself because this way you will be able to take better care of your kids. One of the reasons why I want to do surgery is to able to keep with with ' MY KIDS' none biological but they all live in my heart neverthless.

You go girl!

Lynette617- thanks for the encouragement. I am actually craving sugar really bad as we speak. My DH went over to his brother's and I am deseperate to attack the pantry while he gone. Like a good addict, I like to eat by myself, no witnesses, and pretend it never happened. Then of course shame and guilt hit. But not today. Today I am here on the computer saying very personal things to total strangers- no offense. I think I just hit a breakthrough.

Cazulay, Been there, done that. Good for you for coming to the computer where there is always someone to help you, even if we are strangers, we're strangers with heavy hearts, and in the same boat so we understand. My mom is a special ed teacher also, for about 25 years now. You must have a lot of patience also, as she does, and a very big heart. God bless you for what you do.

Oh, Chimboree, I plan on excercising on the treadmill at the gym for now. After surgery when I'm able I want to get into some light weight training to firm things up. I can't believe your laptop caught on fire! Kind of scary! lol.

How is it getting stuff down? Does it hurt or feel funny? Have you pb'd yet? How are your incisions? Did your docs use stitches, glue, staples...???

Stuff is going down VERY easy. Makes me a little nervous. I took it very slow in the beginning but now I can gulp ice water:) Maybe once they fill I won't but I am enjoying it now. Nothing like it on a hot day!

NO pb's for me. Of course I am still supposed to be on liquids. I have been trying different foods though. Hopefully I won't get yelled at too bad when I see the surgeon on Monday. Today I even at the grilled chicken out of a McDonald's snack Wrap. Boy was it good!!!!

Last night I was able to comfortably sleep on my stomach/port side. Yeah!

My surgeon used glue and steri strips. Most of the steri strips are gone.

There is numbness around some of the incisions. I remember this from when I had a Laparascopic Hysterectomy 2 years ago. It goes away though.

Great, I finally found someone on my day! Perhaps we can stay in contact and swap notes! I am on the pre-op diet right now which is 3 oz. of Slim-Fast (there were other choices also) with 1 oz. skim milk twice a day and a meal under 350 calories, you?

Hello all.... I'm on my 3rd day of pre-op liquids and I was doing fine until my FH came in with 2 bar-b-q steak burgers .... If I had killed him I don't think there's a jury out there that would have convicted me.

Glad your back and feeling better Dini.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
